The Production Planner is responsible for creating production schedules and ensuring they meet our customer demand. It’s an exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual to develop and progress as we are building our Production Planning team in a fast-paced environment.
This position reports to the Production and Material Planning Manager (US) and is part of the Supply Chain team located in Waltham, MA and will be on site for a minimum of four days a week. At Abcam, our vision is to be the most influential life sciences company for researchers worldwide.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
Responsible for determining actionable and efficient daily, weekly and monthly production schedules, considering available resources including material availability, labor, and equipment availability.Own the production planning for multiple products ranges ensuring we meet the customer and business expectation including metrics.Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to resolve issues, process/continuous improvement, and influence on-time delivery.Maintain and report on the set KPI’s to outline production activities and effectiveness and assist effective decision-making in the organization.The essential requirements of the job include:
4 year degree, preferably in a related discipline.2+ years’ experience in a Manufacturing Supply Chain environment; preferably in a biological or pharmaceutical environment.Experience with ERP supply chain planning, SAP or Oracle as well as proficiency with Excel for reporting, analysis, etc.Proven agility in meeting tight deadlines, prioritizing tasks, and multi-tasking.Strong interpersonal skills with a proven track record of working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to influence a wide range of stakeholders at all levels.It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
Problem solving and flexibility around requirements and business needs.Understand how to build and design a production plan from the bottom up, both on and off a system.Participate in cross-functional projects to deliver change.#LI-MR1
