Production Planner - Nairobi, KenyaMars Wrigley

As a Production Planner, you will be responsible for planning, controlling, and optimizing product stock levels to align with production requirements and meet customer demands. Your role will involve ensuring that the best possible alternatives are available while maintaining efficiency and consistency in meeting production targets. You will play a key part in coordinating and monitoring inventory to ensure smooth and effective production operations.

What are we looking for? 

Ideally, you will have a bachelor’s degree in Management or a related business field.

You should be proficient in SAP systems, particularly in Production and Supply Planning.

We’re looking for someone with at least 3 years of hands-on experience in Production and Supply Planning.

Strong computer skills are essential, with experience in SAP and Excel being an added advantage.

You should be an effective communicator, with excellent verbal and written skills.

We’re seeking a team player who can collaborate seamlessly within cross-functional teams.

 

What will be your key responsibilities? 

Production Planning & Scheduling

Develop production schedules, ensuring tasks are completed on time to meet customer requirements.

Create and update SAP master data for all NPI projects and ensure timely project delivery.

Supply Chain & Resource Coordination

Liaise with supply chain, market collaboration, and internal departments (e.g., materials, value stream) to ensure availability of resources and resolve production issues.

Maintain optimal storage levels of integrated products and manage material needs compared to current storage.

Performance & Data Analysis

Collect, assess, and report on production and team performance.

Prepare long-term supply capacity charts, annual and monthly reports, and conduct regular gap analysis.

Customer Communication & Order Management

Maintain timely and accurate communication with internal customers regarding order processing progress and product availability.

Initiate the delisting process, write-offs, or discontinuations as needed.

Inventory & Stock Management

Ensure optimal finished goods availability, avoiding stockouts or overstocking.

Coordinate end-of-period stocktake activities and update system data post-approval.

Continuous Improvement & Reporting

Track and report on NQC actions, escalating risks as needed.

Suggest improvements for production processes and capacity to upper management and support action plan execution.
