PRODUCTION MACHINIST III 1st Shift

Job Overview TE Connectivity's Machinist Team's responsibilities include, assignment planning, layout, set up, operating and making tool adjustments for various types of manual, numerically controlled and computerized machine shop equipment. They work from blueprints, process sheets and sketches to perform production tasks, which may include the cutting and shaping of metal to precision dimensions, communicating directly with engineers to understand the purpose of a part assembly. Every team member is responsible for maintaining housekeeping and organization of the work area as well as following TE Connectivity's EH&S policies and procedures. What TE Connectivity Offers

Roles

Sets up and operates CNC equipment.
• Proves-out, sets-up, operates, and verifies the quality of work on a variety of machine tools involving close tolerances and difficult set-ups.
• Performs routine or repetitive operations in a manner which will consistently meet quality requirements and production standards.
• Actively participates in continuous improvement activities.
• Performs less complex and repeat set-ups with/without assistance, on a variety of CNC machines in a manner, which will ensure accurate and precise compliance with design and quality standards.
• May perform more complex set-ups with supervision.
• Edits existing CNC programs and recommends permanent changes.
• Works from drawings and/or specifications as well as Traveler instructions.
• Assists with the prove-out of part programs for new work or critical variations.
• Troubleshoots less complex machining job problems without supervision.
• Performs additional work within cycle times as time permits
• Evaluates production job performance compared to established production and quality standards, makes improvements to processes to enhance operations. Makes suggestions for engineering process improvements.
• Maintains required tooling, as needed, to manufacture parts to specifications.
• Conducts quality checks through the use of fixed or adjustable precision measuring devices.
• Recommends manufacturing changes to Supervisor/Department Lead/ CNC A.
• Instructs or assists others as needed.
• Performs routine PM and makes minor repairs to equipment as needed.
• Maintains work area in a neat and orderly condition. Works safely, and complies with all established safety rules and work practices.
• Complies with Company, Department, and quality policies and procedures as applicable.
• Keeps Team Leader informed of job, machine, and equipment related problems as well as any other information related to work activity.
• Maintains a positive attitude and promotes a “team” approach throughout the Department.
• Performs multiple operations as required.
• Performs related work as apparent or assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• High school education or equivalent
• 2-5 years of CNC machining set-up and operating experience, preferably in a job shop environment.
• 1-2 years of CNC programming.
• Very strong mechanical aptitude and problem solving skills.
• Proficient at using a microscope
• Proficient at understanding complex blueprints.

COMPENSATION
•    Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $27.16- $40.72 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
•    Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
•    Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
