Product Manager
**Product Manager, PALS** The Assessment Product team, within Pearson’s School Assessment organization, strives to create Pearson flagship assessments and tools to support and engage students, families, and educators as they make progress in teaching and learning. The Product Manager will work closely with Assessment Product team members to support key aspects of delivering on the Pearson Assessment for Learning Suite (PALS) of measurement products. The Product Manager works closely across functional groups, technology, program management, sales, and marketing to manage product development from launch to implementation. The Product Manager has deep knowledge and expertise in the development of K-12 assessment and learning products and is responsible for fulfilling the overall product vision and theory of action to ensure that the product meets the needs of stakeholders. **Responsibilities:** Product Design + Alongside the Solution Owner, support the design and development of new assessment solutions focused on future-ready skills and student-centered learning. + Demonstrate a strong understanding of best practices in learning and assessment (including the assessment of future-ready skills), relevant legislation and polices, and challenges impacting the field of assessment. Product Strategy + Alongside the Solution Owner, create and manage a strategic product roadmap aligned with the priorities and practices of Pearson School Assessment. + Collect user feedback through interviews, focus groups, and surveys, acting as the voice of the customer. + Conduct competitive market analyses to establish a clear differentiation strategy. + Analyze research and usage data to propose and prioritize product enhancements. Product Development & Implementation + Collaborate cross-functionally with content, psychometrics, technology, and program teams to ensure the product roadmap is understood and executed, and any known gaps are clearly documented and communicated. + Manage the cross-functional product schedule in collaboration with Pearson School Assessment schedulers. + Manage risks associated with product readiness, identifying mitigation strategies in support of on-time and on-budget delivery. + Support implementation and training for successful product use, including guides and videos, both internally and client-facing. Product Sales & Marketing + Serve as the main point of contact for sales team; inform marketing and pricing strategies. Collaborate on all key messages, creation of the value proposition, and all product claims. + Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to ensure that product collateral, documentation, and customer engagement is accurate and aligned with product strategy. + Represent the product at internal and external meetings as needed. Other + Perform other duties as assigned. + Occasional travel will be required. Qualifications: + Bachelor's degree is required; advanced degree is preferred. + 5+ years product or project management is required. + 3+ years developing K-12 academic assessment or instructional products required. + Background in student-centered learning, performance assessment, AI innovation, and/or future-ready skills, such as critical thinking and collaboration. + Knowledge of the K-12 assessment landscape and competitive products. + Outstanding oral and written communication skills and strong attention to detail. + Excellent planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills, and ability to coordinate multiple activities and adapt to unexpected events. + Broad knowledge of common software programs, strong technology skills, and the confidence necessary to work with unfamiliar projects. + Ability to effectively prioritize and flexibly adapt to fast-moving environments. + Strong relationship-building skills; confidence working with broad groups of stakeholders, including senior management. + Ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Compensation at Pearson is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific location. As required by the California, Colorado, Hawaii, Maryland, New York State, New York City, Washington State, and Washington DC laws, the pay range for this position is as follows: The minimum full-time salary range is between $105,000 - $115,000.
