Business Environment

Airops (AOP), previously known as Airport and Airline Operations (AAO), is a leading industry platform in airline and airport operations. It aims to deliver a seamless and personalized passenger experience, optimize airport operations, and automate disruption resolution among airlines, airports, border control, and air traffic control.

Within Airops, the Flight, Baggage & Ramp department (FBR) plays a central role, working on various products that facilitate the loading and unloading operations in flight and airport ramp.

About the Role

You will be part of an Agile team, including software development engineers, quality analysts, product owners, and scrum masters. The team works on the Flight Management product, which is part of the Amadeus Altea Departure Control System. Flight management is a safety-critical application that emphasizes flight safety.

Key Responsibilities

Assess Requirements

Build, maintain, and share the functional knowledge of our processes, services, and usage of end-user products.

Analyze business requirements submitted by Product Management.

Consolidate and articulate business needs into new product concepts or upgrades.

Size specification and validation work.

Assist stakeholders, such as product managers and developers, in conducting thorough analysis to ensure requirements are ready for implementation.

Carry Out Functional Design

Write Feasibility Studies, Solution Overview Documents, Interface Control Documents, Product Specifications, and present functional walk-throughs to all concerned stakeholders.

Interface with relevant divisions and departments to identify interactions with other Amadeus applications and ensure functional compatibility.

Quality Assurance

Contribute to the implementation of the test strategy and review test plans to ensure compliance with the delivered functionality and system integrity.

Ensure traceability of tests with specifications.

Ensure production integrity by investigating, validating, and prioritizing reported incidents.

Assist in testing and validating products to ensure they meet business requirements and quality standards.

Manage Relations with Key Stakeholders

Interface and communicate with Product Experts, Product Management, Project Management, Amadeus Customer Services, Implementation, Migration, and Development teams.

Interface with the customer during requirements understanding, functional specification, testing, and implementation phases.

Contribute to Product Promotion

Support the product features definition (scoping) and contribute to RFP/RFI for the product.

Share content for product documentation, sales tools, and collateral.

Give presentations, demos, and familiarization sessions to customers and customer-facing teams.

Participate in the preparation of key events, guaranteeing the success of product launch and follow-up.

Participate in Team Events

Support team stakeholders by participating in team ceremonies: Agile forums, team meetings, solution assessments, etc.

Stakeholder Communication

Facilitate communication between business stakeholders (Product Managers) and the technical team to ensure alignment and clarity.

Project Management

Manage and prioritize tasks and projects to ensure timely delivery of user stories/requirements planned.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Experience

Experience as a Business Analyst, with a preference for those with knowledge of the airline/airport domain. Strong customer focus and collaborative work style. Ability to understand and explain technical and functional information.

Industry Knowledge

Knowledge of the airline and/or airport industry is preferred. We value fast learners who can quickly adapt to new information.

Analytical Skills

Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.

Technical Knowledge

Familiarity with database management, experience in utilizing debugging tools to analyze problems and identify solutions (e.g., SQL, Python, Tableau, Power BI). Excellent IT skills in Microsoft Office tools - Excel, SharePoint, Outlook, Visio, PowerPoint, and Word, Confluence. Familiarity with one programming language such as C/C++, Java, Python, or SQL is beneficial, but not required.

Communication Skills

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders and technical teams. Skill in creating customer-facing documentation. Strong written and verbal communication, including technical writing skills and excellent interpersonal skills.

Problem-Solving

Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically and creatively.

Agile Methodologies

Experience working in Agile environments (Scrum, Kanban).

Education

Bachelor’s degree in business, Computer Science, or a related field.
