About this opportunity:
We are now looking for a Producibility Engineer for welding technologies to drive our antenna design to the next level. The Producibility Engineer develops advanced manufacturing technical principles, theories, and concepts to develop new manufacturing technology on existing or advanced designs, concepts, processes, systems, and tools.
Responsibilities:
• Provide expert knowledge for production technologies and materials in the field of welding technologies of sheet metal structures
• Monitoring and benchmarking of trends and developments in the context of welding technologies
• Lead the process development (incl. DoE, PoC) and supervision of the prototype manufacturing of welded assemblies
• Definition and verification parameters and processes for the technology
• Supporting the definition of design guidelines for welded interfaces
• Drive design to cost targets by implementing new manufacturing concepts
• Network cross-functionally with electrical, mechanical and system engineers as well as production line planners to promote the state-of-the-art development strategy
• Integration of lessons learned into the design and production processes
• Supporting problem solving initiatives and root cause analysis
Key Qualifications:
• Completed (technical) university degree, e.g. in mechanical engineering or production technology, alternatively apprenticeship with further training as a technician
• At least 3 years of practical experience in process engineering, material research or R&D
• Solid understanding of welding technologies
• Profound knowledge of welding technologies, particularly laser welding of of non-ferrous metals
• Expertise in phase transformations, microstructural analysis, and metallurgical behavior of non-ferrous metals
• Experience with automated manufacturing systems is an advantage
• Strong method competence
• Structured and results-oriented way of working
• High social competence and ability to work in a team
• Very good written and spoken English
