Principal, Technology Program Manager

Overview
Technology Risk & Controls (TR&C) enables Mastercard to confidently demonstrate strong risk management, security, resiliency, and operational excellence. Our Program Excellence team ensures TR&C executes effectively against its strategy while delivering high-quality support to our frontline partners. This role provides technical program management (TPM) support for TR&C's Lifecycle function, which equips teams to manage risk, embed controls, and foster accountability.
Role Summary
The TPM will lead cross-functional initiatives that strengthen Mastercard’s risk and control environment by supporting the TR&C Lifecycle team’s tools, frameworks, and coaching efforts. This includes driving execution, fostering collaboration across stakeholders, ensuring governance and reporting, and enabling smooth program delivery.
Key Responsibilities
•\tManage cross-functional risk and control initiatives aligned to TR&C Lifecycle strategic priorities
•\tSupport risk governance routines, reporting, and leadership engagement
•\tTranslate strategic goals into clear project plans, timelines, and deliverables
•\tDevelop documentation (e.g., training, playbooks, comms) to support adoption
•\tIdentify and mitigate risks and interdependencies across programs
•\tEngage and influence stakeholders across functions and leadership levels
•\tDrive change management and enable program readiness and adoption
Qualifications & Experience
•\tProven experience managing complex programs, preferably in technology, risk, or transformation settings
•\tStrong background in program governance, stakeholder engagement, and risk management
•\tSkilled at influencing, building consensus, and driving alignment across teams
•\tExcellent written and verbal communication, including executive presentations
•\tExperience in risk, compliance, audit, or payments industries preferred
•\tKnowledge of agile methodologies and work management tools a plus
•\tBachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (MBA or similar) preferred

In line with Mastercard’s total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary based on location, experience and other qualifications for the role and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role. Pay Ranges
