Job Description
Policy Account Resolution
Complete payment requisitions and ensure that supporting documentation complies with company processes and standards and submit to Senior for approval .Attend to account queries in compliance with company standards.Attend to general office administration in compliance with departmental requirements.Process debit and credit production write offs on a daily basis as per mandate.Ensure all refunds have been processed and send for approval on a daily basis.Follow up on commitments to make interim payment arrangements with Distribution, Brokers and Clients.Timeously and continuously follow up on all unallocated cash with no supporting premium with Credit Control thereby ensuring cash clearing through raising of premium or refund back to the broker within a period not exceeding 60 days.Report on all outstanding and completed account queries daily to SeniorTimeously and continuously escalating to the Senior where no feedback is received on outstanding Premium Due List items.Timeously initiate cancellation process for outstanding premium in excess of 60 days on annual policiesFollow a thorough premium collection process before initiating the cancellation process.Timeously and accurately Identify, investigate and resolve all premium discrepancies within mandateEnsure all outstanding queries are followed up daily/weekly to ensure timeous resolution
Assist in performing reconciliations on policies.Timeously and accurately resolve policy accounts queriesAdditional tasks
Pilot new projectsAssist Senior to Achieve Departmental Goals Assist with IT testing requirements (generally on weekends)Perform ad hoc duties in the department upon request.Compile ad-hoc reports when required.Assists in internal and external audits.Facilitate and service to resolve policy account queries with internal and external stakeholders.Experience, knowledge & skills required.]
Grade 12 essentialDiploma or Bachelor’s degree in commerce/accounting preferred.3 years’ experience in Credit Control or Underwriting role.TIA system experience compulsoryGood analytical and problem-solving skills.Good interpersonal and client relationship skills.Good communication skills (both verbal and written)Proven ability to work independently and proactively.Proven ability to suggest working solutions to a problem.Extensive knowledge and experience using the Microsoft Office suite,Perform professional accounting work, including compilation, consolidation, and analysis of financial data. The role requires an understanding of accounting fundamentals and principles, as well as experience in bookkeeping. Responsibilities may include any or all of the following: ledgers and preparation of journal entries, fixed asset or inventory accounting, preparation of trial balance or financial statements, cost accounting, bank account reconciliation.ResponsibilitiesFinancial Management and ControlTrack progress against budgets within established finance systems, and report variances to more senior colleagues.
Data Collection and AnalysisProduce accurate reports for others by collecting data from a variety of standard sources and inputting it into standard formats.
Data ManagementHelp others get the most out of data management systems by providing support and advice.
Insights and ReportingExtract and combine data to generate standard reports.
Document PreparationPrepare moderately complex documents using a variety of applications for technology devices, such as standard office software. Also responsible for gathering and summarizing data for reports.
Information and Business AdviceResolve complex queries from internal or external customers or suppliers by providing information on policies and/or procedures, referring the most complex issues to others.
Financial Policies, Guidelines, and ProtocolsAssist with the development and delivery of financial policies, guidelines, and protocols to ensure the company complies with regulations and good financial practice.
Operational ComplianceDevelop knowledge and understanding of the organization's policies and procedures and of relevant regulatory codes and codes of conduct to ensure own work adheres to those standards. Obtain authorization from a supervisor or manager for any exceptions from mandatory procedure.
Personal Capability BuildingDevelop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching. Develop and maintain an understanding of relevant technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education, attending conferences, and reading specialist media.
