This role requires an established professional who can work independently on difficult and sometimes complex problems, while also providing guidance to junior team members. **Responsibilities:** + Designing, developing, and productizing complex photonic systems and solutions that meet the specific needs of the program. Conduct research, analyze data, and use technical knowledge to create innovative solutions and improve processes for program and customers. + Work independently with limited supervision on challenging technical projects + Manage projects and processes within the engineering department + Coach and review the work of lower-level professionals + Influence system design, solutions, and procedures while identifying and address potential issues or problems + Develop technical solutions that may require collaboration and deep analysis troubleshooting issues and make necessary repairs to ensure proper system functioning + Communicate effectively with parties within and outside the job function ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards + Make improvements to processes, systems, or products + Work towards achieving operational targets with significant impact on departmental results + Potentially lead small technical teams **Qualifications:** _Required:_ + Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field or equivalent experience + Minimum of 5 years of related work experience + Advanced understanding and ability to apply technical concepts, principles, and theories in the job area + Strong problem-solving skills and ability to tackle difficult engineering challenges + Excellent communication and interpersonal skills + Experience in mentoring or coaching junior team members + Practical knowledge of project management is a plus - **________________________________________________________________________________________** **What You Can Expect:** **A culture of integrity.** At CACI, we place character and innovation at the center of everything we do.
