As a Sales Development Manager, you are responsible for supporting the success of not only your direct reports, but the success of all employees within the larger team you are a part by helping to identify development opportunities and supporting team members to achieve their goals. You are expected to know about the members of your extended team and share insights with your peer managers. Look for opportunities to coach and recognize employees directly and provide just-in-time feedback so that employees can reflect on your input immediately.
The Business Development Manager leads a team who defines, develops and executes on strategies for growth, specifically focused on monetizing SAP's business platform in various markets globally in support of the short, medium and long term strategy and goals. Manages efforts to develop and implement new business models, important partnerships and new acquisition opportunities across the region. Manages a comprehensive strategy development and execution process to ensure new business development strategies and business plans operate reliably. Accountable to ensure strategies and related business plans are developed, documented, communicated and implemented for both Software and Cloud environments cross- industry and customer segment. Define our competitive advantage and establish the key reasons for customers and prospects to leverage cloud deployment models and other innovative technologies to achieve strategic business objectives.
Area 1: Lead a direct and indirect team to identify, evaluate and execute on specific, important investment opportunities for SAP. Leverage and Integrate with the global SAP teams and processes as appropriate to lead and support the growth agenda. Build target markets business development capabilities and organization. Provide program governance and oversight including the allocation of resources.
Area 2: Provide leadership in defining new business development strategies and drive execution of the related growth plans across a targeted market. Direct efforts to identify and develop new opportunities to grow a target market, including significant new Go-to-Market, emerging market and hybrid solution partnerships. Ensure new deals and revenue programs can be commercialized and are executable. Establish agreements with target market leadership regarding growth goals and performance expectations from existing or new programs and deals.
Area 3: Build an effective network/community both internally across Sales, Service, Support, Development and Global teams and externally with significant customers, partners, analysts and consultants. Collaborate with stakeholders to develop actionable strategies, business cases, negotiation strategies and implementation plans. Negotiate complex deals and influence aggressive execution and implementation. Define and ramp-up scalable revenue programs. Create opportunities, focus on the highest value priorities and tactfully manage resistance to change including 3rd party partnership negoitions and defining contractual obligations.

Monitors company's market share and competition. Participates in customer presentations and meetings as appropriate to ensure closure of business opportunities.
