Title: Outbound Inventory Lead

Job Purpose:
The Outbound Inventory Lead is a day-based, people leader who efficiently improves Quality, Human Safety, and Product & People logistics while Engaging and Developing talent. The Outbound Inventory Lead schedules and manages outbound shipments to insure uninterrupted and timely deliveries to Demand Fulfilment Center (DFC) and customers. Maintain SAP and Vehicle Load Management System (VLM) to reflect accurate finished goods production and inventory levels. Maintain and co-ordinate yard management system.
The Outbound Inventory Lead provides the first level of support for Data & Inventory Control questions and is responsible for monitoring site business process conformance and reporting issues, implementing continuous improvements, supporting local implementation of SAP / MES upgrades, and training end users. Schedule outbound shipments to insure uninterrupted and timely deliveries to Demand Fulfilment Center (DFC) and customers. Maintain SAP and Vehicle Load Management System (VLM) to reflect accurate finished goods production and inventory levels. Maintain and co-ordinate yard management system.
What are we looking for?
Minimum Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree OR the equivalent experience, defined as greater than 4 years of experience in a technical manufacturing continuous improvement environment, along with a High School Diploma
• 3-5 years of experience in the areas of outbound deployment, inventory control and warehouse management
• Relevant understanding of outbound deployment and inventory control systems
• Working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices.
• Functional knowledge and understanding of health, safety and environmental practices; and quality management and food safety principles.
• Understanding of major functions within the manufacturing facility and the ability to work directly with all levels and functions.
Physical Requirements:
• Frequent lifting/carrying pushing (10-50 lbs) and pushing/pulling (50-300 lbs)
• Frequent bending, stooping, twisting, handling, and gripping.
• Ability to work at elevated heights, climb stairs, leaning over equipment and work in confined spaces.
• Ability to stand and/or work on feet for extended periods (minimum eight hours in one shift).
• Ability to understand, communicate, read, and write basic work-related English.
Preferred Qualifications:
• A degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics or Systems Engineering
• Direct People Leadership Experience
• 5+ years of experience in the areas of outbound deployment, inventory control and warehouse management
• Advanced knowledge of SAP modules, or equivalent systems and processes related to Logistics Management
What will be your Key Responsibilities?
• Scheduling outbound shipments by arranging for transportation of finished goods to Mars warehouses and customers. This includes understanding vehicle usage and documentation, distribution network, and inventory management.
• Accountable for all finished good production credit by item, quantity, and code date. Reconcile any discrepancies in VLM (Vehicle Load Management) and SAP, while communicating with Service and Finance and Mars Warehouses where needed. SASA and Cycle Count Reconciliation through ZRECON in SAP will also be required.
• Accountable for all inventory adjustments related to finished goods
• Orchestrate with Shipping department loading trucks to meet specific weight and/or pallet targets as well as timely loading to ensure on time and complete
• Troubleshoot issues with deployments of finished goods, DFC, and customer direct shipments
• Manage, report, action (if necessary) destination accuracy, OS&D (over, short and damage) reporting, CCMS (Customer Care Management Systems) with shipping associates as well as site management
• Constant interpersonal communication with all trucking companies on present and future loads, yard allocation, loaded, empty and rejected trailers on yard.
• Provides functional support for Data & Inventory Control questions and issue resolution at a site. Monitor site business process conformance and report business process issues.
• Initiates problem-solving activities, ensuring that errors are corrected by the appropriate associates and that understanding is gained about proper procedures.
• Provides support for monitoring and resolving interfacing errors between SAP, MES, and VLM.
• Annual audit compliance responsibilities and reconciliation.
• Lead physical inventory counts at the site and offsite warehousing, annually.
• Support the site and Finance Manager with Period Close actions. May require weekend work to meet period close deadlines.
• Proactively initiates continuous improvement with inventory control processes. Supports and assists in the development and testing of future system enhancements.
• Ensure user training and provide support for Data & Inventory Control business processes. This includes business process knowledge training, SAP transactional training, MES actual consumption training, and Waste system training.
• Will be Outbound Key User and Trainer for site
• Will be SRS Key User and Trainer for the site
• Daily entry and balancing of inventory, waste management, re-work transactions
• Co-ordinates, audits, and troubleshoots all static inventory data and dynamic inventory transactions in SAP and MES databases.
• Ensures data is consistent with the documented GRD standards.
• Audits and adjusts Bill of Material, Formula, Part Records, to drive accuracy. Reports Inventory Record Accuracy.
