As a member of the Real-World Performance part of Oracle Database development, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. You will be responsible for defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems. Our team is looking for an out-of-the-box thinker; someone who wants to engage deeper methods who is open to building proto-types to effectively drill down to root causes and employ them for the success of our customers.
Responsibilities:
Analyze holistically customer workloads by looking at application logic, database schema, SQL Review, rewrite SQL and application code Use available instrumentation to quantify performance Invent, create efficient methods, tools to analyze usage, performance Review Oracle database features Propose changes, prototype changes Document and share your project results and findings Work with product development to implement product improvementsQualifications:
True passion for performance engineering Effective ability to look at entire system, not just the situation at hand. Strong desire to truly understand what business problems our customers are trying to solve Minimum of 5 years of software engineering or related experience Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience Advanced experience with Oracle and SQL is essential for success in this role Hands on experience in SQL, Python, Java, C (C#, C++) Strong ability to effectively collaborate with all areas of the Database Development organization and other Oracle team members Location: Preference is for Redwood Shores, CA or New York, NY offices-ability to come into office to collaborate 2-3x per week preferred NOTE: There is no sponsorship available for this role
