Oracle Cloud Database Administrator (Exadata/ExaCS) Production DBA – Austin Texas

As an Oracle Cloud Database Administrator (Exadata/ExaCS) Production DBA, you will be part of Cloud Hosting Operations team, responsible for all aspects of database administration for our production and development database environments that support over 20k NetSuite Cloud customers. 
 

Our DBA team focuses on creating, configuring, and maintaining Oracle database servers on bare metal, ExaCS, and autonomous databases in Oracle Cloud (OCI). Database Administrator manages our ever-growing farm of production databases and other technologies that are essential to the operation of NetSuite’s cloud service. Work closely with operations engineers and application developers to ensure database integrity, availability, and performance.

This role is office reporting to Austin, TX for the first 6 months with a possibility of hybrid after the initial 6-month period.

Requirements:

Degree in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience. 5-10 years of professional experience and a general awareness of Oracle best practices. Oracle administration skills in a Linux/UNIX environment. Oracle Database Cloud (18c, 19c, 21c), Exadata / ExaCS, Autonomous database experience. Strong understanding and hands-on experience of database infrastructure (backup/recovery using RMAN, Data Guard, high availability, Oracle RAC, SAN and Network). Strong understanding of hardware performance, memory and I/O. Extensive knowledge and experience with conducting SQL and DB performance tuning, scalability/capacity planning. Solid experience with SQL/PLSQL, UNIX shell scripting, Python or similar. Should be comfortable deploying and maintaining large scale database systems (perform audits, troubleshoot issues, apply patches, perform major upgrades). Good understanding and hands-on experience with deploying and maintaining Cloud database solutions – DbaaS and ExaCS in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) or other cloud solutions/hosting providers like Azure or AWS. Must have excellent communication and technical documentation skills. Ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced, agile team environment. Ability to produce quality work on tight schedules. Ability to solve problems, make sound decisions and use good judgement. Must be able to provide on-call support on rotation schedule. Must be local and commutable to Austin location – office reporting for the first 6-months with a possibility of hybrid after that period. Must be willing to work on-call according to schedule rotation.
