Operator - Packaging- 3rd Shift

Job Description:

Operator Packing

Site: KKC- Columbus, Ohio

Shift: 3rd Shift (11:00pm-7:30am)

The Packaging Operator will be a multi-skilled packing associate who is responsible for achieving maximum efficiency of our packing lines whilst ensuring the highest safety and quality standards are maintained.  

What are we looking for? 

Education: High School Diploma or equivalentExperience in FMCG manufacturing environment  

What will be your key responsibilities? 

Maintain excellent packaging line efficiency in line with the set plan and escalate any deviation from standard or plan.Ensure safe, correct operation of all packing lines equipment and plant.Support peers in achieving highest Safety, Quality and Efficiency standards throughout the packing hall.Be responsible for the achievement of packaging score.Ensure cleaning regimes are upheld and fulfilled to the highest standard.Actively participate in Operational processes that support the improvement of our business performance.Maintain effective communication with all Operations staff to create maximum efficiency. Monitor/test adherence to standards, ensuring breaches are resolved in a timely and effective way and communication is maintained with the relevant stake holders. 

Mission Critical Competencies:

Have a thorough understanding of the process for the entire factory.Excellent interpersonal skills (writing, talking, listening, dealing appropriately in pressure situations) with the ability to communicate within a team environment.Can troubleshoot the equipment (mechanically and computer controls) and it necessary, write a work order on the proper piece of equipment in a timely manner.Able to effectively and effectively operate within a self-directed team with very little supervision.Able to effectively manage and prioritize a multitude of tasks occurring simultaneously.Able to make timely, critical decisions many times during a shift.

Key Functional Skills/Knowledge:

Able to complete all tasks in the area abiding by the Mars Safety Practices. Must be able to assess product quality and troubleshoot any issues associated with product quality.Able to read a production schedule.Can perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.Able to adapt to temperature and environmental extremes such as hot and cold, dust, dirt and chemicals.Every Associate at Mars has responsibility for the achievement for quality and Food Safety.Other duties assigned by manager
