We are in search of a proactive and highly experienced Operations Manager to take full ownership and provide strong leadership for our home delivery network warehouse operations. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily activities of the warehouse, ensuring that all processes run smoothly and efficiently.

Your expertise will be crucial in driving operational excellence, optimizing workflows, and implementing best practices that enhance productivity and service quality. As an Operations Manager, you will play a key role in shaping the strategic direction of the warehouse, utilizing data-driven insights to make informed decisions that support our business objectives. WHAT DOES THE ROLE ENTAIL?

\n

As part of your normal duties, whilst maintaining excellent health and safety practices, you will:

\n\nAn open-minded approach and committed to delivering continuous improvement initiatives that will enhance the experience for both DHL and our customers.\nAnalyze and mitigate health and safety risks for associates, ensuring adherence to safety standards.\nDrive a Safety-First culture and lead continuous improvement initiatives.\nMaintain compliance with all relevant regulatory and legal obligations.\nEnsure effective communication of policies and practices across the operation.\nImplement security measures to protect personnel, assets, and customer products.\nEnsure adherence to work instructions and standard operating procedures.\nDevelop and maintain training plans and quality management processes.\nConduct regular performance reviews and drive continuous improvement programs.\nLead operational performance reviews focusing on profitability and efficiency.\nEnsure achievement of customer KPIs and internal targets.\nConduct regular performance reviews and coaching for direct reports.\nIdentify opportunities for operational enhancements using First Choice tools.\nEngage employees in improvement activities and environmental initiatives.\nFoster an engaging culture through regular communication and recognition.\nLead talent development and succession planning initiatives.\n\n

WHAT DO WE NEED FROM YOU?

\n\nStrong operational knowledge of logistics and warehousing.\nExperience in managing large teams with a focus on safety and compliance.\nCustomer-facing with a service-oriented mindset.\nFamiliarity with working within a unionised environment is advantageous.\nProven ability to build trust with excellent people skills.\n\n
