On-Site IT Support Engineer

Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and customer-focused On-Site IT Support Engineer with AV expertise to join our Barcelona hotel team. This role supports the hotel's daily IT operations, ensuring optimal performance of hardware, software, network, and audiovisual systems used by guests, staff, and conference/event services.

You will be the go-to expert for all IT and AV matters, supporting both the hotel's administrative systems and guest-facing technologies, as well as ensuring seamless execution of meetings and events with AV requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

IT Support:

· Provide on-site IT support to hotel staff, ensuring prompt resolution of issues related to desktops, laptops, printers, POS systems, Wi-Fi, and guest networks.

· Troubleshoot network connectivity (LAN/WAN/Wi-Fi), guest internet services VPNs and work with all relevant stakeholders to maintain and fix issues.

· Support hotel-specific systems including PMS (Property Management System), POS (Point of Sale), back-office, VoIP/telephony, IPTV door locking systems and any third-party Systems.

· Perform regular IT checks, backup procedures, server maintenance, patch updates, and monitoring of hotel systems for security and uptime.

· Liaise with corporate IT and external vendors for escalated issues or implementation of new systems.

· Maintain asset inventory and ensure IT policies, cybersecurity protocols, and data protection guidelines are adhered to.

AV Support (Events Meetings):

· Set up and operate AV systems for conferences, banquets, and meetings, including projectors, screens, microphones, speakers, video conferencing, digital signage, lighting, and sound mixing equipment.

· Provide on-site AV support during events to ensure smooth operation and troubleshoot any real-time issues.

· Work closely with the Events and Banqueting teams to understand and fulfill technical requirements for MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences Exhibitions) clients.

· Ensure all AV systems are maintained, tested, and available for immediate use, including regular firmware/software updates and preventative maintenance.

· Manage the inventory and lifecycle of AV equipment.

· Hands-on experience with AV equipment and setups for corporate or hotel environments.

· Knowledge of systems like Windows Server, Active Directory, Office 365, Cisco/Meraki networking, and AV platforms like Crestron, Extron, or Barco Clickshare.

· Strong troubleshooting skills and a proactive attitude.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially under pressure during live events.

· Fluent in English and Spanish.
