What You'll Do

Are you ready to play a critical role in shaping the financial health and strategic decisions of one of the world-leading consulting firms? We are looking for a Senior Financial Controller to join our Nordic finance team, contributing expertise, insight, and precision to support our offices and leadership. This is a substitution position to cover for a colleague who has been temporarily reassigned a new role

 

As Senior Financial Controller, you will oversee financial controlling activities for two of our Nordic offices, ensuring accurate reporting, regulatory compliance, and robust risk management. You will work closely with local and Nordic leadership to prepare budgets, monitor costs, and deliver internal reporting to our global headquarters.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

Leading internal controls, risk management processes, and compliance with local GAAP, US GAAP, and internal policies. Managing monthly and annual reporting, including financial statements, tax filings, and statutory requirements. Conducting in-depth analytical reviews to identify trends, understand key financial drivers, and ensure accuracy in financial data. Consulting with internal and external stakeholders, auditors, and counsel to proactively identify and resolve financial and operational issues. Supporting cost planning, forecasting, and reporting, while providing leadership with actionable insights, KPIs, and guidance for decision-making. Driving finance improvement projects and adapting processes to reflect changes in legislation, systems, or internal needs. Communicating financial information clearly and concisely, adapting your approach to suit diverse audiences, including non-finance stakeholders. Collaborating across offices and regions, fostering strong relationships with finance colleagues and business leadership.

What You'll Bring

You are a results-driven finance professional with strong analytical skills, a proactive mindset, with the ability to navigate a complex global environment. You combine deep functional expertise with a collaborative approach, delivering high-quality outcomes while building trusted relationships across the business. With a commitment to continuous improvement and customer focus, you contribute actively to strengthening financial operations and supporting strategic decisions.

 

You also bring:

A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration or equivalent. 3–5 years of relevant experience, ideally within a global and complex organization. Strong knowledge of Nordic accounting and tax legislation, and familiarity with US GAAP. Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, BI tools, Tableau and AI tools. Experience from SAP is a plus. Fluency in English and a solid understanding of a Nordic language. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to identify financial patterns, conclude on key drivers, and resolve inconsistencies. Deep functional expertise enabling proactive problem-solving and strategic financial insights. High level of ownership and accountability, with a drive to improve processes and deliver high-quality results. Strong organizational skills, including the ability to manage confidential information with discretion and focus under pressure. A collaborative approach, building strong networks across teams, offices, and functions.

Who You'll Work With

You’ll be part of BCG’s Finance team, a trusted partner in safeguarding the firm’s assets and guiding its strategic direction. The team ensures high standards of financial integrity and helps to shape BCG’s future. The Nordic finance function is centralized in Stockholm and consists of 30+ professionals. You will report to the Nordic Financial Control manager.
