Job Description:    

CACI is seeking a Network Engineer (Senior) to provide technical expertise and leadership in managing and optimizing USSTRATCOM’s WAN routing and switching infrastructures. This role will focus on network installation, monitoring, troubleshooting, and cybersecurity, ensuring robust connectivity and performance across the command’s IT lifecycle. Experience with DoDAF (Department of Defense Architecture Framework) is a plus, particularly with transitioning to the Unified Architecture Framework (UAF) to align with evolving DoD standards. Nettrain experience is a plus, enhancing the ability to support training and simulation systems. The work location is Omaha, Nebraska. This position is contingent upon award of the United States Strategic Command SCITLS contract. 

 

The Opportunity:  

Join CACI as a Network Engineer (Senior) to drive network engineering efforts within the Architecture & Engineering (A&E) team for USSTRATCOM. You will manage and enhance enterprise WAN networks, support cybersecurity compliance, and deliver mission-critical connectivity solutions in a dynamic environment. Experience with DoDAF, particularly transitioning to UAF, and Nettrain is a plus for aligning with DoD standards and training systems. The work location is Omaha, Nebraska, with the position contingent upon contract award. 

 

 

Responsibilities: 

Network Engineer, Senior:  

Provides network installation, tuning, testing, monitoring, upgrading, patching, break/fix, defense, and management of the WAN routing and switching infrastructures, including network hardware and software 

Configures, updates, monitors, manages, troubleshoots, and documents routers and switches in the USSTRATCOM WAN networks 

Provides troubleshooting of enterprise WAN voice, data, and transmission networks and evaluates the effect of architectural changes on the network 

Supports incident and problem management activities for Tier 3 O&S for occurrences that disrupt network services IAW USSTRATCOM policies and standards 

Aligns technical and IT management Systems Engineering process/IT Project activities for Normal/Non-Standard Changes to the contractor’s approved SEMP to deliver technical solutions 

Ensures that the ChM process includes inputs and outputs of workflow in conjunction with ASI processes 

Reviews applicable regulations, policies, and best practices and recommends changes to cybersecurity CM to enhance network and implement changes 

Provides, maintains, and updates the Comprehensive Network and Systems Documentation 

Functions as a technical expert in Cisco products and design, including experience in design and support of Cisco infrastructure, collaboration, security, wireless and/or data center 

Creates and maintains documentation as it relates to collaboration and network configuration, network mapping, processes, and service records 

Possesses experience with DoDAF, netTerrain, complex system-of-systems engineering practices, and tool automation and integration of technical auditing 

Possesses and applies comprehensive knowledge across key tasks and high-impact assignments 

Plans and leads major technology assignments 

May supervise others 

 

Qualifications: 

Required: 

BA/BS + 5 years of relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience.  

Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility 

Required 8140 Certification: 441 - Intermediate (e.g., CEH, CFR, Cloud+, GICSP, SSCP, Security+, GSEC) OR applicable ABET-accredited/CAE-designated degree OR equivalent training OR Foundational Qualification Alternative (DoD Component Waiver). 

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.  

Proven ability to lead network engineering initiatives in fast-paced, mission-critical environments while managing multiple priorities.

FEAC Blackbelt Architect  

AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Professional) OR Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect  

OMG Certifications: Unified Architecture Framework (OUP), UML (OCUP 2), SysML (OCSMP)  

TOGAF 9 or newer  

ArchiMate 3 or newer  

INCOSE ASEP or CSEP

The proposed salary range for this position is:

$65,000 - $136,500
