National Account Manager - Pet Nutrition

Our Mars Pet Nutrition team is on the lookout for a curious, commercially-savvy, and collaborative Customer Development Leader to take the lead on our partnership with one of our major accounts. This is more than just a sales role — it’s your chance to be a strategic partner, a category trailblazer, and a key player in shaping the future of petcare in Australia.

You’ll develop comprehensive customer business plans and implement point of purchase solutions influence retailer and shopper behaviour and deliver mutually beneficial results for Mars, our customers, and the category.  
 

What You’ll Be Doing (aka How You’ll Make an Impact): 

Lead a major account with confidence, curiosity, and a continuous improvement mindset — covering pricing, promotions, execution, field plans, NPD, and distribution. 

Build and execute smart, data-led customer business plans that deliver results for Mars, the customer, and the category. 

Drive category growth with shopper-focused, win-win solutions — think like a pet parent and a retailer all at once. 

Be the voice of the customer inside Mars, and the face of Mars to our customers — it’s all about strong, authentic partnerships. 

Strategic business planning at multiple "levels" within the relationship (category, online, replenishment, and store operations). 

Use insights and analysis to make every trade dollar count, creating sustainable, long-term success. 
 

What are we looking for? 

A Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Commerce, Finance or something similarly transferrable (or equivalent experience).  

Demonstrated experience in Sales, Marketing, Category Management for FMCG or CPG companies.  

You’ve danced the Account Management dance before, and know how to lead with influence. 

You speak fluent Nielsen, CAS forecasting, and trade systems — data is your friend and ally.
