Competencies, qualifications and skills:

Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering Significant practical experience with underground mining methods. Short and long term mine planning skills.  Sound understanding of survey methods and good knowledge of underground mine ventilation and mine geology. Essential to the role is practical experience with Mine planning software. Excellent communication and influencing skills with a demonstrated ability to contribute and work effectively in a team.

Key responsibilities will include:

Development of panel designs which optimise value and meet the long term mine plan. Mine services design including power, dewatering and ventilation. Compilation of Panel Note Commentaries. Delivery of development plans to meet mid-term scheduling requirements.  Optimisation of stope shapes and delivery of Stope Note Commentaries. Evaluation of mine design, sequencing and schedules to optimise plans and deliver improvement opportunities. Work closely with Operations, Geology, Metallurgy, Geotechnical and Mining Engineering team members to deliver safe and practical designs.   Communicate plans through close working relations with Operations.
