MGR I CORPORATE STRATEGY (Remote)

Job Overview

This position reports to a Corporate Strategy Senior Manager. It can be based within a 3-hour driving distance from TE’s US Headquarters office near Philadelphia (e.g., New York City, New Jersey, Washington DC, Baltimore, etc.). The Manager is expected to come into the HQ office a few days per month and travel less than 10% of the time to meet colleagues and clients, attend industry events, etc.   

The Strategy Manager will help solve the most critical global strategic questions across TE Connectivity, such as: 

By identifying attractive market spaces, help identify new growth platforms and growth opportunities within business units and across businesses. 

Help the Business Segments and Business Units develop strategies that drive above-market organic and inorganic growth, 

Gather real-time input as the external environment (e.g., technology, customer needs, regulations, competitors, etc.) evolves. 

Determine what it takes to win, assessing the competitive position and business models, and then helping the organizing to align on the strategic direction and execution plan. 

Act as a white space strategist and thought partner to identify new growth areas and opportunities for operational improvements. 

Focus on key initiatives to develop talent within India and the broader strategy community.

ROLE DESCRIPTION AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

This is an opportunity for a talented individual who wants to accelerate their career within a global corporate strategy team, leading to career options within strategy and line roles across TE in India and abroad. As a member of the Corporate Strategy team, this individual will contribute to TE’s portfolio decisions, competitive strategy, and performance by being an advisor to the CEO and the top leadership team.  

 

As a member of the Corporate Strategy team, you will.   

Responsibilities include: 

Effectively translate business requests into well-defined problems.  Collaborates with the corporate strategy and business unit teams to solve complex business problems  Guide and coach India Corporate strategy team and manage their day-to-day activities  Provide leadership, mentorship, and community building for India-based strategy talent.  Develop strategies and approaches to fulfill complex project assignments creatively and meaningfully.  Analyzing industry structure, competitive dynamics, and market attractiveness and its likely evolution to inform strategy development  Identify key trends across markets, industries, and competitors that affect our businesses.  Create analytical models to address key business questions and translate output into explicit stories.  Support the development of a robust strategic plan for TE Connectivity.  Lead the overall fact-based creation and communication process.  What your background should look like:

Experience  

2-3 years of experience in management consulting or corporate strategy, with a focus on market research and quantitative analysis  An individual should be a strategy practitioner who is well-versed in the theory and tools of strategy formulation and the practical implementation of strategy within a complex organization.  Excellent with MS-Excel and MS-PPT; proficiency in data analytics suite (Tableau, Alteryx, SQL) is a plus.  Well-honed understanding of the key levers to deliver superior and consistent total shareholder return (TSR)  Operational track record of dealing with strategic business issues, including microeconomics, industry structure, operations strategy, and finance  Familiarity with project management approaches, tools, and phases of the project lifecycle – with experience applying these skills in managing teams and leading projects. 

Academic education

COMPENSATION
•    Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $117,200 - $175,800 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
•    Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
•    Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
