Job Overview
At TE Connectivity, we are seeking a Manufacturing & Process Technician IV specializing in Thermoplastic Extrusion to join our Technical Engineering Support Team. In this role, you will focus on advancing the capabilities and services provided by the Plastics Extrusion department, working closely with Manufacturing Engineers, Operations, and Production teams to optimize processes and ensure high-quality output.
2nd shift; position to start at our Brooklyn Park facility.
Demonstrate a primary commitment to patient safety, product quality, and compliance with the Quality Manual and its governing regulations.
Provide first-level technical response to production issues:
Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment problems
Locate sources of issues by observing mechanical equipment during operation
Work with maintenance to keep equipment in optimal condition
Support engineering work related to design, procurement, fabrication, installation, documentation, and qualification of manufacturing equipment, tooling, and fixtures.
Assist in developing and optimizing process parameters and tooling selection for thermoplastic extrusion processes.
Conduct and assist with process qualification & validation activities, including writing protocols and reports (IQ, OQ, PQ).
Support goals for yield and productivity sustainment through process improvement and troubleshooting.
Perform and provide guidance to other technicians on equipment preventative maintenance and troubleshooting.
Train operators on manufacturing processes and equipment operation/set-up.
Work with cross-functional and multi-site technical team members to deliver technical support to extrusion projects.
Independently coordinate and execute complex engineering studies as assigned.
Train, mentor, and provide direction to Operators and junior Technicians.
Create and modify detailed work instructions.
Support Engineering Studies by collecting data, documenting results, and contributing to reports.
Participate in daily tiered meetings, representing the Engineering team.
What your background should look like: HS graduate. Prefer additional technical training and/or education: 2-year Associate's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or related field. 6 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with a focus on thermoplastic extrusion. 4 years accepted if attained a 2-year degree. Ability to independently navigate in and operate PCs and other industrial computer equipment. Proficiency in using calibrated metrology equipment, including pin gauges, laser micrometers, vision systems, and/or ultrasonic measurement systems. Knowledge of structured problem-solving methodologies (e.g., A3, DMAIC). Familiarity with IQ/OQ/PQ processes. Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems is beneficial. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization. Utilize email and calendar functions (Outlook), redline and compose new MS Word documents using company standard templates, create PowerPoint slides, and create and modify basic Excel spreadsheets. Ability to safely operate common hand and power tools. Experience using 5S manufacturing methodologies and other lean principles. Ability to read, write, and speak proficiently in English. COMPENSATION
• Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $67,500 – $101,200(subject to change dependent on physical location)
• Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
• Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
