Position Summary:
The Manufacturing Process Development Engineer provides economical solutions to create & improve processes for the manufacture of wire & cable. This position interacts with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Cable Assembly Engineering, Manufacturing, Test laboratories, raw material suppliers and equipment manufacturers. This position is responsible for the development & industrialization activities required of a high precision, high bandwidth product base.
Primary Responsibilities, Tasks & Deliverables:
• Product / Process validation & transfer
• Assist with product qualification
• Process improvement & documentation - Bulk Cable
• Assist all areas of cable manufacturing as required.
• Support Product Development validation & qualification activities.
• Assist with organizing and running DOEs
• Support the development of PFMEA, 8D, FA
• Assist Tooling Specification & Design activities.
• Support SAFE Activities
• Support ISO Activities
• Provide Technical support for maintenance activities.
• Provide any support for any activities or projects necessary to support the business
Job Requirements/Experience Necessary
• Manufacturing, Mechanical or Plastics Engineering Degree preferred.
• This is a entry level position (can be adjusted depending on candidate)
• Minimum 1 to 2 years of wire & cable process engineering experience..
• Working Knowledge in SPC/Six Sigma/Lean
• CAD Experience Required
• Knowledge of materials, processes, and systems used in the manufacture of wire & cable a must.
• Up to 30% International Travel Required.
