Right now, we’re looking for a Mechanical Training Instructor to join our Mechanical Training team at RSME (Wainscott). In this role, you’ll help train the next generation of Mechanical & Plant Maintainers—both Regular and Reservist soldiers—by sharing your expertise in plant vehicles and equipment, and guiding them to success through structured, skills-based learning.

What you’ll do:

Deliver high-quality mechanical instruction on in-service ‘C’ Vehicles and Engineer Construction Plant equipment, aligned with Course Training Plans and Training Objectives. Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment for all learners. Uphold health and safety protocols in all training spaces, including safe use of tools and machinery. Accurately assess, track, and record learner performance—both theoretical and practical—against military and civilian standards. Support internal quality standards, including maintaining Gold IIP and ISO accreditations. Act as an ambassador for Pearson and the Company, promoting professionalism and a commitment to lifelong learning.

What we’re looking for:

Essential qualifications and experience:

City & Guilds 620 Pt III or equivalent, or be a Military Trained Fitter A professional teaching qualification, or willingness to achieve one A recognised mechanical engineering qualification (Plant Vehicles/Equipment) NVQ Assessor/Verifier award (or willingness to work towards one) Category C, G & H driving licences Manual Handling Training and RSME Induction (or willingness to undertake)
