Job Description:

The Opportunity: Join CACI as a Mechanical Engineer and become part of our dynamic, growing team! This exciting role offers the chance to work on cutting-edge projects in both production and R&D environments. Based in our Melbourne, Florida facility, you'll have the opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams and travel to our other locations, including our Fairfax, Virginia office.

Responsibilities:

Lead mechanical design efforts for production and R&D operationsCollaborate with program managers, systems engineers, electrical engineers, and test engineersDevelop and maintain documentation for mechanical interfaces, test procedures, and assembly processesSupport program-related test fixtures and toolingConduct heat transfer analysis, shock and vibration mitigation, and tolerance analysisOversee fabrication of mechanical hardware, working closely with machine shopsEstablish mechanical interface baselines in collaboration with electronics/RF engineersProvide ongoing support for existing mechanical designs and hardware

Qualifications:

Required:

Ability to obtain a DoD TOP SECRET security clearanceBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related fieldProficiency in CAD software for mechanical design preferably SolidWorks3+ years of mechanical engineering experience in defense contracting

Desired:

 Active TS/SCI ClearanceMaster's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related fieldExperience with RFI/EMI enclosures, shielding, and PCB-related structuresProficiency in Catia, ProE, SolidWorks, or AutoCadExperience with heat transfer analysis tools (e.g., ANSYS)Hands-on experience with milling machines, lathes, and drill pressesSkill in writing inspection and assembly documentationExperience coordinating with machine shops for hardware fabrication

Pay Range: There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:

$54,600 - $112,000
