About the Role

We are looking for a Mechanical Development Engineer to join our Innovation & Engineering team. In this role, you will drive the design, development, and validation of innovative mechanical solutions, working from concept through to full-scale production. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including Innovation Engineers, Packaging Engineers, Scientists, and Chemists, as well as external suppliers and manufacturing partners.

This is an exciting opportunity for a creative and hands-on engineer who enjoys technical challenges, rapid prototyping, and pushing the boundaries of innovation in the cleaning and hygiene industry.

Key Responsibilities

🔹 Product Design & Development

Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies using CAD tools (preferably SolidWorks).

Ensure systems are designed with the highest quality standards and meet technical requirements.

Translate concepts into production-ready solutions by working closely with manufacturing partners.

🔹 Prototyping & Testing

Build and test early-stage prototypes using in-house workshop and lab facilities.

Conduct verification and validation testing to ensure performance, robustness, and reliability.

Identify and implement design improvements based on testing results and field feedback.

🔹 Project Collaboration & Management

Work in a multidisciplinary team with Innovation Engineers, Supply Chain, and Marketing to align on project requirements.

Collaborate with suppliers and external partners to ensure smooth development and manufacturing transitions.

Produce and maintain detailed engineering documentation (drawings, specifications, quality plans).

Support the selection and assessment of suppliers to ensure they meet technical and quality standards.

🔹 Technical Expertise & Mentorship

Provide technical guidance on materials, manufacturing processes, and system performance.

Mentor and coach junior engineers within the team.

Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends to drive innovation.

What You Bring

✅ Master’s degree (5+ years' experience) or Bachelor’s degree (7+ years' experience) in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design Engineering, or related field.

✅ 3-5 years of experience in mechanical design & product development.

✅ Strong knowledge of CAD software (SolidWorks preferred) and tolerance analysis (GD&T, Tolerance Stack Analysis).

✅ Hands-on prototyping and testing skills.

✅ Experience with plastics manufacturing processes (e.g., injection moulding).

✅ Ability to manage projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.

✅ Strong problem-solving skills and creative mindset.

✅ Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

✅ Fluent in English (other languages are a plus).

✅ Willingness to travel within and outside Europe if required.

Bonus Skills (Preferred but not required):

🔹 Experience with fluid pumping, dispensing systems, and chemical compatibility.

🔹 Knowledge of water regulations and compliance standards.

🔹 Background in mechatronics, IoT, and sensor integration.

🔹 Understanding of Lean Six Sigma principles.
