Leadership Giving Officer

Habitat for Humanity Greater Boston is excited to be adding a new position focused on securing major gifts. In this position, you will use your proven experience in cultivating major donor relationships to advance the strategic mission of Habitat Greater Boston by overseeing annual leadership-level solicitations with donors with annual giving potential of $10,000 to $25,000+ annually and major giving prospects of $50,000+.
Job Duties:
* Key responsibilities will include the following:
* Maintain a portfolio of approximately 150 donors and prospects in varied relationship stages including identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
* Make 12 substantive contacts monthly, leveraging face-to-face and virtual meetings, phone calls, emails, etc. to build relationships and increase support from donors and prospects.
* Qualify prospects for leadership, major, and planned gifts, assisting the Chief Development Officer with building the major gifts pipeline.
* Track and report to the CDO on assigned key performance indicator metrics for portfolio.
* Coordinate efforts with the CDO to ensure consistent communication about gift planning and to leverage non-traditional gifts such as donor advised funds to meet fundraising goals.
* Collaborate closely with engagement and donor relations colleagues to manage and execute stewardship for donors * Including recognition of loyalty, leadership, and volunteer service.
* Work closely with the CDO to set annual fundraising goals and develop strategies to achieve those goals.
* Participate in the development and implementation of organizational philanthropic strategies and campaign content; prepare key reports as needed.
* Coordinate special fundraising initiatives in support of annual giving, such as crowdfunding, workplace giving, and giving days.
* Work with Development team colleagues to ensure coordinated, synchronized efforts during the solicitation and stewardship cycle.
Requirements:
* Our ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
* At least 7 years’ experience in annual fund management, as a leadership giving officer, or direct sales and relationship development, including 3+ years of demonstrated success in securing major gifts
* Proficiency in Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
* Availability for occasional evening and weekend engagements
* Ability to travel throughout greater Boston as needed
* Exceptional relationship development and management skills
* Proven track record of meeting solicitation goals
* Experience making cold calls with prospects and donors
* Outstanding skills in time management, written and oral communication, organization, and attention to detail
* Must be self-motivated, and able to work well both independently and cooperatively
* Driven to achieve goals and a sales mindset
* Experience with constituent and gift management CRMs or sales/lead-gen programs
* Experience creating print, email, and social media appeals, and basic design skills
* Knowledge of and experience with planned giving
* Prior experience developing and implementing sales or fundraising campaigns and strategies
* Knowledge and experience with developing and working within a major gifts pipeline
