About the role 

This role is based at Diageo’s Shieldhall packaging site. Shieldhall packages a huge volume of Scotch malt whiskies, white spirits and ready to drink brands to supply over 170 countries around the world and is a key manufacturing site within the Scotch supply category.

As a Lead Equipment Owner (Lead EO), you will work as part of our core team responsible for delivering a range of tasks associated with operations within our Shieldhall Bottling Hall.   

  

Health and safety compliance is key, and you’ll be at the forefront of making sure this is supervised alongside other key performance indicators and targets including production quality, production efficiency, service, cost efficiency and FI.  Ensuring that operations are performed to the highest standard and both line and site goals are achieved to meet operational needs.  

  

You will continuously be supporting our scotch strategy to deliver within our 3 key areas: Innovation, Efficiency and Society 2030.  

  

Main duties within the role will be to:  

Provide support to the Packaging Team Leaders with daily tasks to ensure line and site KPIs are met and appropriate resources are available Work closely, engage and liaise with other Equipment Owners to deliver production commitments and help generate FI ideas to continuously drive performance and improvement initiatives within the Bottling Hall  Identify areas of concern and proactively highlight any potential risks of missing deadlines.  

  

Effective organisation is important, as the Lead EO you will work within a team and must multitask efficiently to operate the machine and lead additional responsibilities.  

  

Shifts  

  

As a Lead EO, you will work 38 hours per week on double days (early and back shift)

Passionate and has excellent interpersonal skills, organisation and leadership skills with a demonstrated history of operational excellence.  

  

Be able to push forward your own ideas about improvements to current approaches and appraise new opportunities. Have the strive to make a positive difference to manufacturing excellence and show your excellent communication skills.  

  

The ideal candidate will be a confident and an effective communicator, capable of fostering strong relationships at all organisational levels. Additionally, they should possess the willingness and ability to coach Equipment Owners and craft, driving enhanced performance and advancing their knowledge and skills.
