Kitchen Trainee
DescriptionReporting to the Training Manager, the trainee will be responsible for learning and familiarizing with various activities and operations within their departments. He/She will be required to uphold company policies and requirements at all times.
Key ResponsibilitiesUnder the supervision of the Departmental Trainer and Training Manager, the trainee shall learn how to:\nMaintain a hygienic kitchen and personal hygiene.\nEnsure company’s standards are maintained.\nPrepare and cook food according to the restaurant’s menu.\nClean and re-set their working area.\nAdhere to occupational, health and safety legislation, policies and procedures.\nAdhere to property safety, first aid and fire and emergency procedures and operate equipment safely and sensibly.\nAssemble and prepare ingredients for menu items.\nAssist with checking, receiving and storing of goods.\nMaintain storage areas.\nEstablish and maintain professional and effective communication within the whole Food & Beverage Department.\n
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
\nDegree/ Diploma in Culinary arts from a recognized learning institution\nNo work experience is required\nLess than one year since completion (2024/2025)\nKenyan Citizen\nCompleted coursework (If even if not graduated)\nAbility to work and communicate in a multinational environment\nExcellent grooming skills and must be well versed in professional and personal etiquette\nGood Communication skills\nOut going with a positive learning attitude.\n
