The Opportunity:
CACI is seeking a Journeyman Infrastructure Engineer focusing on Virtualization to support complex IT services and strategic mission systems: Global Adaptive Planning and Collaborative Information Environment (GAP CIE); and Force Survivability Analysis and Management (FSAM). Your role will focus on designing, implementing and maintaining a robust virtualization infrastructure that enhances operational efficiency and mission readiness. The work location for this position is Omaha, Nebraska. The position is contingent upon award of the United States Strategic Command SCITLS contract.
Responsibilities:
Infrastructure Engineer (Virtualization), Journeyman [GAP CIE & FSAM]:
Assists in designing, implementing, and managing virtualization technologies and environments to optimize IT infrastructure and resource utilization
Configures and maintains virtual machines and manages hypervisors
Troubleshoots and resolves issues related to virtualization infrastructure, including performance and connectivity problems
Assists with the integration of site-specific hardware, firmware, and software into the RBS baseline
Assists with the design and implementation of virtualization systems and network improvements as required
Helps to identify redundant systems and excessive operational costs that do not significantly impact system availability and security
Operates with appreciable latitude in developing methodology and presenting solutions to problems
Possesses and applies expertise on multiple, complex work assignments
Must be willing and able to work rotating shifts (days, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays) as required by mission needs
Additional Duties: Perform other related duties as assigned by leadership to meet mission requirements and support USSTRATCOM objectives. Depending on experience and team structure, this role may involve working under direct supervision or potentially providing guidance, training, or supervision to others
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field
Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility
Minimum 5 years of experience in infrastructure engineering with a focus on virtualization
Required 8140 Cert: 671 - Basic; CND or Network+; OR Applicable degree ABET accredited/CAE designated; OR Training AND Additional Cert
Proficiency in virtualization technologies and platforms
Strong understanding of networking, storage, and server architectures
Experience with automation and orchestration tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform)
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Strong communication skills, with ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

The proposed salary range for this position is:
