The Opportunity:
CACI is seeking a Journeyman Hardware Technician who will be responsible for monitoring, maintaining and troubleshooting server hardware and applications supporting USSTRATCOM. This role requires a strong understanding and foundation of server infrastructure, diagnostic testing and operational maintenance (O&M) protocols.
The work location for this position is Omaha, Nebraska. The position is contingent upon award of the United States Strategic Command SCITLS contract.
Responsibilities:
Hardware Technician, Journeyman:
Monitors server applications and services using authorized monitoring software (e.g., SolarWinds, VMware Aria Operations) to facilitate proactive response to hardware failure, misconfiguration, lack of capacity, over subscription, excessive latency, service degradation, and outages
Performs diagnostic tests on computer hardware to identify faults and malfunctions
Installs and configures hardware components to ensure usability
Repairs or replaces damaged hardware components
Installs, replaces, repairs, removes, fabricates, and tests new and existing LAN cabling IAW applicable policies and industry best practices
Tests newly installed hardware systems to verify correct operation
Identifies, analyzes, and corrects broad, repeated, or critical substandard performance equipment once initial troubleshooting and/or repair is complete
Prioritizes and analyzes all hardware/equipment changes, records and categorizes all hardware/equipment changes, and accurately reports change status under direction
Possesses and applies expertise on multiple, complex work assignments
Assignments may be broad in nature, requiring originality and innovation in determining how to accomplish tasks
Operates with appreciable latitude in developing methodology and presenting solutions to problems
Additional Duties: Perform other related duties as assigned by leadership to meet mission requirements and support USSTRATCOM objectives. Depending on experience and team structure, this role may involve working under direct supervision or potentially providing guidance, training, or supervision to others
Qualifications:
Required:
Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field
Minimum of 3 years of experience in server hardware maintenance and support, preferably in a military or government environment
Required 8140 Cert within 6 months of start date: 411 - Basic; A+ or Network+; OR Applicable degree ABET accredited/CAE designated; OR Training
AND
Additional Cert: CompTIA A+, Network+, or Server+ strongly desired
Proficiency in server hardware diagnostics and repair
Familiarity with server operating systems (e.g., Windows Server, Linux)
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

The proposed salary range for this position is:
