Role

Due to continued success and growth of our talented Application Development team, we are now looking to add a talented and experienced Java Developer to join the business and participate in global projects. This role also presents an opportunity for the incumbent to broaden into the Salesforce developer space as the application landscape moves from legacy web sites to new Experience portals.

You will play a leading role in extending the existing toolset, processes and framework used by the Application Development Team.

Main duties/responsibilities includeDeveloping Java applications and services using Cigna standardsParticipating in code reviews, including applications security reviewAccountable for delivering quality code and test automation as per Cigna standardsUtilizing design methodologies, object-oriented design and design patternsWorking with other teams throughout the company to determine feasibility, business and functional requirements, and technical designs on assigned projectsProducing detailed technical designs / documentationProviding ongoing support, maintenance and enhancement of systemsProducing implementation plans and working with Ops Support team on production releasesUndertaking L3 production support to troubleshoot and resolve production issuesProviding support and guidance to other members of the teamInterfacing in a professional manner with internal and external users, at all levelsUsing own initiative to continually identify areas of service improvementSkills and Experience

Essential requirements:

Good knowledge of written and spoken EnglishBachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related disciplineAt least 3 years of relevant working experienceJava 8+Spring Core Framework, Spring Data/JPAUnit Testing, Test AutomationMaven or GradleHibernate, MSSQLDesign and develop REST Web APIs/servicesExperience with source code management systems (GIT)

Should have requirements:

Spring Boot (including Spring Boot REST API), Spring SecurityConsuming SOAP web servicesSwagger, Postman, SoapUIJSP, basic JavaScript, jQuery, HTML 5, CSS 3Spring MVCOWASP/Web App SecurityT-SQL, SQL Stored ProceduresExperience with Agile software development lifecycleExperience with Linux Bash and JBoss web application server (JBoss JWS, JBoss EAP)Experience with CI/CD and DevOps

Jira backlog managementExperience developing microservices, service mesh, Istio or equivalentExperience with Azure DevOps, Boards, Repos, Pipelines and DeploymentsDocker, AWS, CloudFormationFront-end frameworks such as React.js or legacy frameworks such as Struts, Tapestry, Webflow, Tiles, ExtJSExperience with security products Checkmarx and OWASP ZAPExperience with Salesforce, either as an admin or developerAbility to determine unique and creative solutions to problems within a rapid development environment
