International Quality Manager
**Overview:** Join Pearson’s Centre Management team as an International Quality Manager, where you will play a crucial role in promoting effective quality assurance within Pearson’s International vocational centres. This position is designed to ensure Pearson maintains regulatory requirements and the integrity of centre assessment, delivery, and quality assurance. **Role Responsibilities:** **Corporate and Departmental Projects:** + Provide leadership and support for specialist functions, projects, or initiatives as required. + Engage fully as directed and meet specified deliverables within agreed timescales. **Quality Assurance and Support:** + Work directly with centres to address quality issues, particularly those spanning multiple sectors and identified as high risk. + Collaborate with the Quality Standards, Investigations, and Vocational Assessment teams to capture centre-wide issues and identify solutions. + Resolve quality issues across various centres. + Support the resolution and investigation of malpractice cases. + Address quality issues within high-risk centres, including late registration, lack of resources, and poor quality delivery. **Customer Service and Professional Support:** + Ensure customer needs are met by promptly answering questions and providing guidance during the international centre and qualification approval process. + Support the delivery and assessment of all BTEC vocational qualifications. + Maintain assessment standards by advising on internal and external quality assurance processes. + Assist international standards verifiers and resolve quality and compliance issues. + Ensure customer compliance with awarding body regulatory requirements and certification eligibility. + Provide support during complex delivery and quality assurance situations. **Maintenance of Quality Standards:** + Assist in ensuring the validity of learner achievement and certification. + Help centres manage assessment and verification processes and develop policies. + Manage and resolve major breaches in assessment and quality processes. **Leadership and Support:** + Offer subject-specific advice in one or more sectors. + Advise on programme delivery, assessment, internal and external verification, and the development of centre quality processes. **Business Growth:** + Utilize company resources wisely while deployed on company business. + Provide support to centres that enhances the company's reputation. + Ensure service levels are achieved and operate within company policy. + Contribute to the formulation, implementation, and delivery of future operational business plans. + Achieve departmental and individual targets and efficiently utilize the departmental budget. **Record Maintenance:** + Maintain accurate and auditable records. + Ensure all records related to quality provision are current and accurate. + Provide monthly activity reports containing specified data. + Produce data in specified formats and meet deadlines for requested information. **Skills Needed:** **Qualifications and Experience:** + Understanding of BTEC Quality Assurance processes, ideally with experience in a school, college, or training provider environment. + Degree or relevant vocational qualifications or extensive experience. + BTEC operational experience and detailed knowledge of vocational assessment methodology. + Clear understanding of the current educational landscape in the UK and international regions. + High level of personal management and discipline. **Core Competencies:** + Providing a customer-focused service. + Forging effective working relationships with International Regional Offices, Pearson departments, key teams, and external stakeholders. + High level of professionalism and integrity. + Communicating with influence. + Working with others to achieve goals. + Delivering goals in a changing environment. + Taking a creative and innovative approach to work. + Maximizing potential in self and others. **Additional Competencies:** + Detailed knowledge of BTEC operations, procedures, and quality policy. + Extensive knowledge of vocational qualification assessment, delivery, procedures, and policy. + Highly developed communication and report writing skills. + Ability to manage people effectively and present complex ideas to various audiences. **IT Literacy:** + Competency in email, word processing, spreadsheets, and electronic communication. + Understanding of Pearson databases and information processing software. + Desirable: Understanding of the Self-Regulated Framework and budget management. **Personal Style and Behaviour:** + Flexibility and excellent spoken and written English skills. + Excellent interpersonal and communication skills across various media. + Advanced influencing skills. + Ability to manage workload and work under pressure. + Decision-making and problem-solving skills.
