Innovation, Application and Formulation In-service trainee
**Job Title** : Innovation, Application and Formulation Intern **Location:** Isando, South Africa **Job model:** On-site  This internship will provide you with valuable experience and skills that can significantly benefit your career in the nutrition industry. Whether you're looking to pursue a career in research and development, technical sales, or another area within the nutrition sector, this internship will set you on a path to success. **Key Responsibilities:** + Assist with administrative tasks and perform application trials in the Innovation & Application Center under the guidance of senior team members. + Support regional HNC application projects by executing a variety of application tasks as required by Marketing and Sales. + Develop prototypes using DNP nutritional ingredients, conduct stability studies, and contribute to the creation of marketing materials. + Execute lab tests for feasibility studies, competitive product form evaluation, and customer troubleshooting. + Perform laboratory tests on small-scale equipment and execute analytical methods such as color measurement, particle size distribution, and viscosity. + Manage analytical customer requests, including logistics of samples and result management. + Record and report results, specific observations, and manage prototype and sample inventory. + Maintain lab equipment inventory, ensure its maintenance, and document all related activities. + Schedule and perform lab experiments and stability studies, demonstrating flexibility and a hands-on attitude. **We offer:** + Collaborative team environment + Opportunities for continuous improvement and process optimization + Training and development programs + A role in a dynamic and results-driven organization + Exposure to international operations + An inclusive and multicultural team with respect for everyone **Qualifications:** + Apprenticeship in food technology or a comparable field, or a Laboratory Technician diploma is advantageous. + Minimum 2 years of cumulative lab experience, including experience gained during studies, practical classes, or internships, preferably in food application or product development. + Fluent in English, both written and spoken. + Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint). + Strong time-management and self-organizational skills. + Willingness to learn and expand knowledge. + Flair for quality, application, and sensory analysis. + Able to work independently and proactively. + Experience in result management, documentation (Excel, PowerPoint), and Good Laboratory Practices. **About dsm-firmenich** At dsm-firmenich, we don’t just meet expectations – we go beyond them.
