Job Summary:
To serve as the lead role in implementing all project activities at the district and community level on health and immunization. The three (3) Project Assistants will be based in the districts of Mokhotlong, Leribe and Mafeteng respectively and will be responsible for ensuring high quality, result-oriented project implementation and timely achievement of project milestones and objectives in the districts. They will play a key role in establishing and maintaining good working relationships at the community, health facilities and districts; will work hand-in hand with district EPI focal person to identify gaps in immunization and child health programs and address them and work with Health Facilities to support VHWs in identification of Zero-dose and under immunized children and link them with health services.
Key Outputs/Responsibilities:
1. Program Implementation, Management, Monitoring and Evaluation (40%)
Facilitate to ensure that project activities are implemented timely, efficiently and effectively to meet project objectives and standards.Prepare and use appropriate project specific Information, Education and Communication (IEC) and training material for service providers/beneficiaries.Utilize all necessary monitoring and supervision tools used for project implementationEngage in reviewing activity vs. budget plan in a monthly basis to monitor the activity progress and budget utilization. Track the project budget and ensures adherence to operational budgetary limits.Ensure timely submission of scanned documents to the district office.Ensure timely sharing of information in support to meet critical deadlines.Ensure timely submission of reports on weekly, monthly and quarterly basisDocument and share lessons learnt in health and immunization projects and programmes.Document story of transformation related to Immunization and Health Outcome brought by the project2. Representation and Networking (30%)
Liaise with relevant partners and stakeholders at community, health facility and districts levels including other community-based agencies for the successful implementation of health and immunization project activities.Enforce stewardship by ensuring efficient and effective utilization of project resources for the intended purposeOrganize and hold meetings with relevant stakeholders at the communities3. Reporting, Team work and Administration (20%)
Provide and Encourage teamwork, be a team player, support and supervise drivers, casuals, communities and other relevant personnel.Provide effective leadership and technical support to other staff and communitiesPreparation of Project plans, reports, and review of district reports, for maximum compliance with the set standards and follow up its implementation.4. Spiritual Nurturing (10%)
Attend and participate in spiritual nurture meetings and in weekly and daily devotions as scheduled and required.Exhibit spiritual maturity, integrity, biblical leadership and a dynamic personal sense of life calling.Influence staff towards a shared World Vision mission*Perform any other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
General Nursing and Midwifery with at least five (5) years’ experiences in implementing health projects or programmes. Five (5) years’ experiences working at Primary Healthcare SettingPost graduates’ qualification in Primary Healthcare/Community Health Nursing/Public Health will be an added advantageDemonstrated experience in organizing and facilitating training, mentorship and capacity building of community leaders; Experience in coordinating community activities and logistics at the field level; Knowledge of UNICEF reporting requirements including familiarity with the data collection and reporting tools or a similar programme will be added advantage;Knowledge and experience on Expanded Programme On ImmunizationDemonstrated ability to coordinate and supervise a team. Registration with Lesotho Nursing Council with a valid licenseSKILLS & CAPABILITIES
Good community participatory skills.Experience in networking is necessary.Experience in using Microsoft Office (Word, Access, Excel.).Excellent skills in report writing.Excellent communication and human relations skills.Cross cultural sensitivity, flexible world view and emotional maturity;Able to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines while maintaining positive attitude;Committed Christian, with strong level of integrity.Good understanding of World Vision core values and Mission Statement.CORE COMPETENCIES
