The HR Manager, Japan is responsible for planning and executing HR strategies, day-to-day activities, ensuring that talent cycles and processes are effective, reflect best practices and are aligned with Danaher and Leica Biosystems‘ standards and business priorities. It is a generalist role, with high visibility and impact.
This position reports to the Sr HR Director and is part of the LBS global HR team. This will be an on-site role, based in our Tokyo office.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
Partner with the Japan GM and the leadersip team to identify and lead HR initiatives that will improve team’s capabilities, organizational effectiveness and build on the culture of high engagement and performance.
Responsible for maintaining and ensuring local policies and procedures are current and reflect best practices. This includes work policies, job duties, employee health and safety, working conditions, compensation practices and employee benefits
Responsible for all employee relations matters, effectively manage investigations, employees’ grievances and complaints; provide guidance, liaise with Corporate and/or external Legal teams where appropriate. Establish trusting working relationships between management and employees by handling questions, interpreting policies and legislation, administering contracts
Manage accuracy and reliability of Workday data and physical files, ensuring they meet internal and external audit requirements. This includes payroll and personnel data, training and attendance files.
Manage employee cycle processes and HR KPIs: new hire, onboarding, transfers, promotions, performance management, termination processes successfully executed. Analyse and report data, identify trends, implement counter-measures to improve talent metrics.
REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS POSITIONEight or more years of progressive HR experience with a multi-national company in a Generalist role required
Proficient in both spoken and written Japanese and English
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in
