Job Description:

Under the supervision/guidance of the Field Operations Manager and Field Program Lead, the Health and Nutrition Coordinator will lead the timely and quality implementation of Basic for Girls (B4G) project in Kanchanpur District Growth Monitoring and Promotion actions in Banke District, Disability Inclusion Initiative, nutrition related actions planned in different technical programs ( Common minimum package, and other health, disability and nutrition activities and projects) under West Field Office. The position will ensure effective coordination between different departments, resource management, quality control, monitoring and reporting alignment to quality standards and support office requirements. Additionally, the position will oversee disability-focused initiatives, including the provision of wheelchairs, braille instructions, and sign language training. The position will ensure timely accomplishment of project actions, documentation and prepare and share quarterly, semiannual and annual progress reports as per the project requirement. The position will also work closely with the National Office (NO) Health and Nutrition, Protection, and Education Technical Heads, the Gender Equality, Disability and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) Lead and field technical leads to make sure that all the inputs provided are updated and are timely.

The position will enable capacity development of health workers, teachers, volunteers, different groups and guide the partner NGO and all project staff for quality project execution, provide regular monitoring, mentoring to project staffs and liaison between local government, provincial government and other stakeholders. The position will work closely with Field Operations Manager and Field Program Lead and perform duties based on the input provided from FO.

The position will also serve as a representative for various platforms at both the provincial and district levels, communities, as required/ assigned by supervisor to foster collaboration and drive positive changes in the communities to enhance the health and nutrition actions.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Prepare program operation plan, timeline and tracking of activities and budget for WFO health, nutrition and disability projects.Lead health, nutrition and disability related actions under AP programming, including growth monitoring and promotion for children U5 years and nutrition focused elements of the common minimum package.Lead the implementation of disability-focused initiatives, including funding allocation for mobility devices, braille programs, and sign language training.Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including partners, to ensure the quality and timely implementation of health and nutrition projects.Work together with partner project staff to track progress, identify the areas for improvement, support and report to management.In close coordination with MEAL, update and review data and dashboard timely and provide accurate information for the decision making. Prepare reports, presentations, and other relevant materials to share among internal and external stakeholders as per project/ field office requirements.Establish functional relationships with different functions, partners and national office, seek support to ensure successful implementation of health and nutrition program activities.Manage the contracts/partnership agreements with implementing partners (PNGOs) and provide regular technical oversight and support to PNGOs to ensure all project activities; meet the implementation targets, timeline and expected standardsTechnically lead in compiling consolidated DIP, ITT progress and budget for health and nutrition programs.Capacity development of project staff, health workers, teachers, elected members and other concern stakeholders. Organize and manage health and nutrition project-related visits by National office and Support offices.Ensure that gaps in project performance as well as lessons learned are identified through the reporting process and actioned timely.Coordinate with field office management team, cross functions, partners to track project quarterly and monthly planning, project updates, documentation, reporting etc.Ensure project baseline, and endline are undertaken and reported timely. Lead B4G, Disability Support Project and other health & Nutrition components independently, ensuring quality benchmark, minimum standards are in place and activities implemented accordingly.Monitoring and tracking progresses of B4G project, common minimum package and other health and nutrition projects and tracking timely to ensure the effective implementation of project actions. Provide onsite coaching and mentoring to project staff, health workers and teachers for adolescents’ reproductive health, child protection, gender-based violence and comprehensive sexuality education services delivered in standard manner from service delivery points.Provide or manage training to health workers, teachers, child right committees, and other relevant stakeholders on comprehensive sexuality education, adolescent sexual reproductive health, gender-based violence and other relevant topics to deliver services effectivelyEnsure quality service delivery on ASRH, GBV, Safeguarding, CSE and Protection services from service delivery points.Ensure establishment of Adolescent Friendly Information corner in health facilities and in secondary schools with SBCC materials. Ensure MHM-friendly infrastructure created in schools with menstrual materials are available and accessible to adolescent girlsFacilitate ensuring the availability of trained human resources in health facilities, in schools and in Local Level to provide ASRH, CSE, Safeguarding and Protection services.Ensure GBV response system in place at schools, and wards offices and strengthen and or equip the safe house at the AP level and OCMC center in the district hospital.Ensure actions are carried out to improve knowledge of adolescents, parents, and concerned stakeholders on adolescent reproductive health including menstrual hygiene management and gender-based violence.Coordinate and collaborate with different organizations to ensure the compliance of assistive devices as WHO standards, plan and monitor the braille instructions and oversee sign language training and material development.Identify, document and adapt to project-related challenges, facilitate redesign/rebudgeting processes in close coordination with technical team for further decision making. Document and communicate challenges, provide feedback on gaps, prepare summaries with infographics, and maintain accurate archives to support project implementation and reportingProactive communication to all stakeholders; cross functions and departments both FO and NO regarding any changes in program management and operations.Provide regular project progress updates and analysis to key internal and external stakeholders.Undertake visits to project implementation areas to engage WV project and partner staff, local stakeholders and beneficiaries as necessary to provide detailed oversight of the B4G project and other health and nutrition activity implementation areas.Manage the project reporting schedule per donor/ support office requirements, including periodic and end of project reports, clearly communicating timeline, process, and specific requirements to internal/field teams to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality reports.Prepare/review reports to ensure requirements have been met and queries have been addressed before submission.Ensure WVI systems; dashboards, horizon, etc. are kept up to date with project informationCollect success/case stories, before after photos of project sites and share to program manager/donor.Coordinate with MEAL to ensure monitoring and evaluation of health, nutrition and disability projects.Ensure the incorporation of international and WV standards, as well as Safeguarding, DME, Accountability and GEDSI processes and findings into project implementation processes.Ensure Safeguarding and child protection-related compliances fulfilled in the project and inform the safeguarding and protection focal points for any incident recording. Contribute to the development and implementation of internal systems and processes to support effective program management and operations.Increasing demonstration and understanding of and commitment to World Vision’s Core Values in the approach to work and relationships.When necessary, contribute to the design and drafting of quality health & nutrition project proposals for successful institutional grant acquisition.Support a relief response for the relevant sector as and when necessary.Building positive professional relationships with partners, cross functions at both FO and NOProgram integration with Palika, other peer organizations to increase program synergy Organize joint monitoring visit along with Palika and other relevant sectors to increase collaboration and to ensure program quality.Establish functional relationship with Ward, Palika offices, health facilities and schools to create MHM-friendly and GVB-responsive environments for adolescent girls.Represent various platforms at both the provincial and district levels, communities, as required/ assigned by supervisor to foster collaboration and to maximize the reach to drive positive changes in the communities.Anything else requested by the line manager or Field Operations Manager to support the quality of programming for WVIN Field Operations 
 

KNOWLEDGE/QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE ROLE

Bachelor’s degree in public health (BPH) or bachelor’s degree in Community Nursing or equivalent in relevant fields of study. Self-motive, who can work independently and manage pressure situations tactfully.Minimum of 2-year experience in Adolescent sexual reproductive health, Gender based violence, and comprehensive sexuality education program. Experience in Growth Monitoring and Promotion of Children U5 yearsExperience in disability inclusion programs.Track record of working with local NGO partners, local and provincial government Knowledge or experience in supporting disability programmingA good fluency in using digital platforms with fluency in both English and NepaliHave excellent communication, documentation and coordination skillsHigh level of integrity towards resources, and identifying risks etc.Strong analytical skills and Proven experience as a team player, demonstrated collaboration & team building skillsProven ability to write and produce reports and publicationsCompetent on Microsoft Office.Strong negotiation, interpersonal skills, administrative and facilitation skillsMust be able to interact with diverse groups and stakeholders at different level

Travel and/or Work Environment:

Need based travel to provincial level engagements and other Areas Program locations. Also need based at West Field Office.
