Health Economics and Reimbursement Manager

We’re always looking towards the future, anticipating changes in medical science and technology. **The opportunity:** This role will be responsible for developing and executing reimbursement and market access strategies to maximize timely and sustained patient access for Abbott’s innovative medical technologies in Australia. This role includes informing pricing and reimbursement decisions and driving successful HTA outcomes through a combination of stakeholder engagement, evidence generation and synthesis, application strategy development and execution, coupled with robust internal and external communication. The role will involve proactive engagement with internal and external stakeholders, including cross-functional teams (e.g. Marketing, Medical Affairs, Clinical, RA and GA), payers, HTA agencies (MBS section) and relevant Government departments, including Department of Health (Prescribed List Section). **In your new role:** + The role will report to the Head of Market Access, Health Economics & Reimbursement, ANZ and will be responsible for identifying strategic funding opportunities and reimbursement risks for pipeline and in-market products. + Develop and execute reimbursement strategies for new production introductions and indication expansions, amongst others, aligning with business objectives and payer value drivers. + Drive collaboration with internal stakeholders including regional and global HE&R, local commercial and functional teams, by facilitating communication and collaboration between cross-functional teams at Abbott. + Design and lead the development of health economic modelling tools, i.e. cost effectiveness models, budget impact models, field-based calculators in collaboration with local, regional and Global HE&R teams. + Conduct/manage systematic literature reviews and critical appraisal of evidence, preparation and submission of Prescribed List applications with the Department of Health and ensure compliance and timely updates of existing items on the Prescribed List on a regular basis. + Translate global messaging and evidence strategy into local context and develop strategy for MSAC submissions, including engagement with external consultants, KOLs, patient groups, etc. and responsibility for end-to-end execution and seeing projects through to fruition. **To succeed in your new position ideally you will possess:** + Minimum of 7 years relevant experience in Market Access, Health Economics, Health Outcomes Research or Health Technology Assessment role in medical devices, pharma, consultancy or government. + Strong understanding of the Australia Healthcare system and funding processes (prescribed list, MSAC, DRG-based funding, private payer systems) including recent reforms to PL and HTA pathways. + Experience managing HTA submissions, economic modelling and external payer engagement. + Strong understanding of health economics and outcomes research concepts and methodologies. + Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional reimbursement strategies that resulting in successful reimbursement or HTA approvals. + Competence in MS Office applications. + High integrity and work ethics, in line with Abbott values. + Strong commercial awareness and business acumen with project management and leadership capabilities. + Collaborative mindset and team player across a matrix environment and diverse external stakeholders.
