Are you a dynamic communications leader with experience in the telecoms sector and a passion for driving impactful storytelling across multiple regions? Ericsson is seeking a Head of Communications, Americas to lead our communications efforts across the United States, Canada, and Latin America. In this strategic role, you will shape and execute external and internal communications strategies that elevate Ericsson's brand and support our business objectives across a diverse and evolving market.


As the Head of Communications, Americas, you will lead a high performing team and oversee media relations, social media, executive communications, and employee communications strategies for Ericsson across the Americas.

 
You will build and maintain strong relationships with key media outlets, expand Ericsson’s presence in non-traditional press outlets to enhance our support to related to policy, regulatory activities, and government advocacy. Develop and execute a social media strategy that grows our following and enhances engagement with targeted business and technology audiences. Additionally, you will take the lead on internal communications, ensuring alignment with company values, ethical standards, and business priorities, with an emphasis on localized approaches that drives our Ericsson Americas culture forward.


A critical part of your role will be managing communications around complex, sensitive topics—ensuring that Ericsson’s narrative remains strong, clear, and aligned with our core values during times of uncertainty or challenge.


You will serve as a trusted communications advisor to regional leaders, including the heads of the Americas, CTO, the head of the People Team, and other business leaders, as well as partner closely with the Marketing team to align communications programs in support of marketing campaigns. The Head of Communications reports to the CMO, Head of Marketing and Communications for Market Area Americas.
 

Specific Responsibilities Include: Leading a team of highly skilled communicators Developing strategic communications plans to support Ericsson Americas’ business plansDriving proactive media relations plans and activities, including media pitches, bylined articles, and blogs, in support of business successes and executive thought leadershipSupporting customer units’ and global business areas’ news announcements and press releases, with a focus on regional adaptationCoaching spokespeople (executive & senior management as well as subject matter experts) in interviews and other external events, including media and message trainingManaging relationships with public relations and social media agencies, as well as the related budgetsOverseeing the regional employee communications program, including all-employee meetings, leaders’ meetings, leadership messages, newsletters, articles, and the intranet, tailored to diverse regional needsLeading employee communications campaigns around strategy, ethics, compliance, and other business focus areasProviding communications counsel and guidance to executives through issues and crises, with a focus on compliance communications across the AmericasDeveloping and overseeing the strategy and content for regional social media channels across the AmericasSupporting executive thought leadership through speaking engagements, earned media, and executive social media presenceDriving increased employee social media advocacyLeading Government Policy and Advocacy (GPA) communications efforts Developing and implementing crisis communications strategies to effectively manage and mitigate risksQualifications: Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, English, or related field15+ years of experience in communications, with expertise in media relations, social media, and employee communicationsExperienced people manager with a focus on coaching talentExperience in the Telecoms and/or technology industry is strongly preferredExceptional storytelling, writing, editing, proofreading, and oral presentation skillsExceptional executive presence and managementCreative thinker with extreme attention to detailComfortable working in a diverse, fast-paced, and matrixed environmentAbility to manage multiple projects and priorities with tight deadlinesMultilingual capabilities are a plus, especially proficiency in Spanish, Portuguese, or French


Position is located in Plano, TX. Ericsson works under hybrid model, with employees spending at least 60 percent of their time in the office.
