Job Description:

Obstetric Care
•    Provide comprehensive care to pregnant women, including antenatal check-ups, management of high-risk pregnancies, and safe delivery services (both vaginal and cesarean).
•    Monitor and manage complications during pregnancy, labor, and postpartum, ensuring effective interventions to safeguard maternal and fetal health.
•    Educate mothers and families on prenatal, postnatal care, and family planning to enhance maternal and child health outcomes.
Gynecological Care
•    Diagnose and treat gynecological conditions such as menstrual disorders, reproductive health issues, and infections, ensuring accurate and timely interventions.
•    Perform surgical and non-surgical procedures, including hysterectomies, myomectomies, and laparoscopy, while adhering to safety and quality standards.
•    Provide family planning services and routine gynecological screenings, including pap smears and pelvic exams
Emergency Response
•    Provide urgent care for obstetric and gynecological emergencies, including postpartum hemorrhage, ectopic pregnancies, and other critical cases.
•    Lead the response team in managing emergency situations, ensuring timely and coordinated care.
Team Collaboration
•    Work closely with anesthesiologists, nurses, and other medical staff to provide comprehensive care.
•    Participate in multidisciplinary meetings to develop holistic treatment plans for complex cases.
Training and Mentorship
•    Guide and mentor junior doctors, medical interns, and clinical cadres.
•    Provide continuing education and training for staff to maintain high standards of maternal and neonatal care.
Quality Assurance and Compliance:
•    Adhere to established treatment protocols, infection control standards, and patient safety guidelines.
•    Ensure accurate documentation of patient records, surgical notes, and follow-up plans.
Continuous Improvement:
•    Stay updated on advancements in relevant clinical techniques and integrate new knowledge into practice.
•    Participate in quality improvement initiatives and hospital audits to enhance surgical services.
 

Minimum Qualification required:

Medical degree (MD, MBChB) and master’s degree in Obstetrics and Gynecology from a recognized medical institution.Licensed to practice by the Medical Council of South Sudan or similar regulatory authority.Minimum three (3) years of experience in providing similar services in recognized government or private hospitals.Commitment to patient care and ethical medical practices.Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills under pressure.Experience in working with NGOS in a fragile context is preferred.Personnel management and motivation expertise and experience.Excellent work experience in training facilitation and mentoring government staff.Demonstrated application of Do No Harm, including understanding of intended and unintended consequences of gender equality and social inclusion interventions, and risk mitigation approaches.Understands and is committed to WV’s vision, mission and core values.Fluency in English language, Arabic and the local languages is an added advantage.
