 Minimum Requirements:

Namibian Citizen. Relevant tertiary qualification (Accounting). Completion of articles will be an advantage. Accounting system experience will be advantageous. Computer Literacy and good numeric skills are essential with excellent excel skills. Proven ability to meet and exceed tight business and reporting delivery targets on a consistent basis. Ability to work under pressure. Ability to work independently; and Excellent communication and organizational skills.

 

Job Description:

Manages the financial reporting requirements. Drives & collates monthly submission consisting of reports and commentary by agreed deadline. Prepares monthly financial reports for management including a high-level variance report by agreed deadline. Compile ad-hoc reports based on requirements. Develops, reports on and interprets cost drivers, KPIs and benchmarks. Provides commentary on financial results and the implications thereof and advises on corrective action to be taken. Ensures that all financial accounting transactions the team is responsible for are accurately reflected in the ledgers. Accountable for governance and compliance at an operational level. Creates a healthy internal control environment to ensure safeguarding of assets & integrity of financial information. Monitors & reports on status of all control accounts Effects on-going changes to internal controls as necessitated by changes in business and corporate governance. Emphasis of the role is on interpretation and predictive results. Maintains complex business models. Preparation of annual business plans and quarterly forecasts. Recording of financial transactions to trial balance level. Assist in preparation of annual financial statements. Tax reporting and maintain and ensure relevant tax compliance.

Perform professional accounting work, including compilation, consolidation, and analysis of financial data. The role requires an understanding of accounting fundamentals and principles, as well as experience in bookkeeping. Responsibilities may include any or all of the following: ledgers and preparation of journal entries, fixed asset or inventory accounting, preparation of trial balance or financial statements, cost accounting, bank account reconciliation.

ResponsibilitiesFinancial Management and Control

Work within established systems to deliver prescribed outcomes for a designated area of financial control.

Data Collection and Analysis

Collate and analyze data using preset tools, methods, and formats. Involves working independently.

Data Management

Manage basic aspects of the data management system with guidance from senior colleagues. This includes being responsible for developing or operating basic elements of the data management systems to deliver prescribed outcomes.

Insights and Reporting

Prepare and coordinate the completion of various data and analytics reports.

Document Preparation

Edit document in line with organizational style guidelines and prepare information for publication.

Information and Business Advice

Provide specialist advice on the interpretation and application of policies and procedures, resolving queries and issues and referring very complex or contentious issues to others.

Financial Policies, Guidelines, and Protocols

Contribute to the development and delivery of financial policies, guidelines, and protocols to ensure the company complies with regulations and good financial practice.

Operational Compliance

Maintain and renew a deep knowledge and understanding of the organization's policies and procedures and of relevant regulatory codes and codes of conduct, and ensure own work adheres to required standards. Or identify, within the team, patterns of noncompliance with the organization's policies and procedures and with relevant regulatory codes and codes of conduct, taking appropriate action to report and resolve these and escalating issues as appropriate.

Personal Capability Building

Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching; gain or maintain external professional accreditation, where relevant, to improve performance and fulfill personal potential. Maintain an in-depth understanding of technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education, attending conferences, and reading specialist media.
