What You'll Do

We’re seeking a detail-oriented and proactive P&L Controllership Manager to drive accuracy and compliance with monthly GL close processes, ensure high-quality management reporting, and support financial decision-making for GS, ES, Digital Products and WWI. This will also involve close partnership with cross-functional teams to enhance finance operations and improve reporting efficiency.

This role is part of BCG’s Global Services Accounting Operations team, based in the New Delhi office. The team is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of BCG’s financial reporting, supporting monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes across global businesses. Key responsibilities include maintaining strong process controls, performing thorough reconciliations, and collaborating closely with business partners worldwide to deliver reliable financial insights.

The role specifically oversees accounting and reporting for BCG’s global support functions—Global Services, Enterprise Services, Digital Products, Worldwide Initiatives, and the People Team. It leads end-to-end GL close and management reporting activities, including variance analysis, financial schedule preparation, and insightful commentary for senior leadership. The position also plays a critical role in year-end close, cross-functional coordination, and process improvement initiatives. Close partnership with Finance Business Partners, AP, and Functional Finance teams is essential to ensure transparency, effective cost allocation, and alignment with business objectives, especially during system transitions and strategic initiatives.



What You'll Bring

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance & accounting, with prior experience of working in a global finance operations team or setup 10+ years of relevant experience in Finance processes with focus on financial accounting, reporting and analysis, with strong understanding of finance operations setup, delivery, and process transformation Able to excel in a dynamic and intellectually challenging environment while adapting flexibly to improve the business and align with BCG's values and culture.Strong, proven proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, with adaptability to various technologies and software applications/tools.Practical work experience and exposure to various ERP systems, such as SAP, Oracle, Infor, BO, and Hyperion.Ability to operate effectively at both a “high level” and a “detailed level.”Strong analytical and reporting skills, with the ability to understand complex topics, think critically, exercise judgment, and make informed decisions.Good management judgment, flexibility, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, comfortable interacting with peer groups, senior leadership, and third-party service providers.Exceptional organizational skills, with the capacity to handle multiple shifting priorities alongside day-to-day responsibilities.Demonstrated experience in GL close processes, management reporting, and financial analysis.Strong analytical skills, a questioning mindset, and attention to detail, with the ability to ensure accuracy and consistency in financial data.Proven ability to collaborate effectively across departments and lead process improvement initiatives.

This position is essential to the Global Services Accounting Operations team and will work closely with Global Accounting and Control, Intercompany, Functional Finance, Local Offices, US GL, Accounts Payable and systems teams.

GL Close & Management Reporting:

Lead the end-to-end year-end close process, including Year-End Calendar preparation, coordination with local offices, resolution of AP invoice issues, and collaboration with the US GL team on shared activities.Lead monthly close processes and accounting activities for GS, ES, DPO, WWI, and PT, ensuring compliance with BCG’s accounting standards.Deliver monthly management reporting that highlights business performance and key financial insights for senior leadership.Analyze monthly actuals vs. forecast and prior-year results, providing high-quality, insightful commentary to support financial accuracy.Review transactional-level details to ensure accuracy in cost allocations and maintain alignment with business objectives.Perform month-end checks across key cost categories such as Compensation, Other Costs, Allocations, Capitalized Software, and ILCS, coordinating with Local Office teams to resolve discrepancies.Prepare and maintain detailed accounting schedules and analyses for accruals, operating expenses, and allocations.Conduct quarterly compensation reviews for GS, DPO, and ES; partner with the Workflow Planning team to validate plan numbers and placeholders.Support the Functional Finance and Intercompany team in reviewing complex cross-entity manual allocations and HFM/SAP journals for accurate cost transfers.

 

Business Partnering:

Collaborate with Finance Business Partners to obtain monthly ES and DPO control statement signoffs, ensuring transparency and accountability.Provide GS Hub leaders with monthly financial performance updates, explaining variances against budget and recommending corrective actions.Partner with the Accounts Payable team to resolve pending invoices and vendor setup issues, contributing to seamless financial operations.Lead reconciliations for chargebacks and allocations (including ILCS), promoting accuracy and transparency in financial reporting.Establish and support a cross-functional governance model to oversee transitions, address process roadblocks, and drive continuous improvement.Conduct technical accounting research to support ad-hoc queries and operational decision-making.

 

Process Improvement:

Identify opportunities for process improvements within GL close and management reporting, implementing changes to enhance efficiency and reduce risk.Actively participate in cross-functional meetings to stay aligned with ongoing change management efforts, offering technical expertise where needed.
