What You'll Do

In collaboration with the Product Owner and other development team members, you will be an impactful, quality-focused member in BCG’s Knowledge & Design portfolio, and you will sit at a critical epicenter for BCG’s generative AI transformation. This role is responsible for assisting the team with requirements discovery, backlog refinement, feature documentation, user support, and quality assurance.


You will help develop and scale innovative AI frameworks that enhance knowledge discovery, research, and content synthesis through intuitive and user-friendly interfaces. You’ll focus on creating AI solutions that address specific research use cases by synthesizing expert knowledge, performing autonomous research via agentic workflows, and unlocking non-traditional data types for generative AI use. Your mission is to future-proof our generative AI infrastructure, ensuring its scalability, reusability, and robustness across the enterprise. This role is integral to the Knowledge function at BCG, as it directly impacts how our firm leverages AI to harness and amplify our collective expertise. By building AI agent workflows that tap into diverse and complex data types, you will enable the organization to unlock new levels of insight and efficiency. These frameworks will be critical in supporting BCG’s mission to remain at the forefront of knowledge management, enabling faster, more informed decision-making and driving significant value across the firm.


In your role, you will collaborate with squad members to ensure user stories and artifacts meet the needs of the team, the Product Owner, and key stakeholders. You will use your deep knowledge of applications and business process to support the Product Owner with backlog prioritization and data analysis. You will work closely with the Product Owner and key stakeholders to ensure the AI solutions meet business needs and acceptance criteria.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:


Product Roadmap & Development

Work closely with the Product Owner to align on business strategy and goals, translating these into a clear vision and roadmap for AI solution development.Create and manage a dynamic AI solution roadmap (with the Product Owner) that aligns development efforts with business goals and user needs.Act as a liaison between the development team and business stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and understanding of project goals, timelines, and deliverables.Champion the development of high-quality products through collaboration, strategic planning, and a keen focus on the end user's needs.Use empirical and qualitative data to help prioritize features, balancing the trade-offs between customer value, cost, and speed of execution in the context of AI solutions and agents.

Gather Business Requirements

Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and document business requirements, ensuring a clear understanding of the project scope and objectives.Engage in continuous discovery through surveys, interviews, and data analysis to ensure the AI framework and solutions evolve based on real user feedback and emerging needs.Conduct market analysis to inform product strategy and identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.Translate business needs into actionable product features and requirements for the development team.Facilitate workshops and meetings to refine and prioritize requirements, ensuring alignment with overall business goals.

User Persona, User Stories & User Experience Sensitivity

Develop detailed user personas and user stories that accurately reflect the needs, and goals of the target business users.Translate customer needs into actionable user stories, focusing on how generative AI solutions and agents can address specific pain points or opportunities.Work closely with the UX/UI design team to ensure product features and interfaces meet the needs of the user personas and enhance the overall user experience.Conduct user research and usability testing to gather feedback, using insights to drive design and functionality improvements.Define and communicate acceptance criteria for AI solution features, ensuring outputs meet both business and customer needs, particularly in the context of generative AI applications.

Stakeholder Management

Collect and analyze feedback from users to refine AI solutions and agents, translating it into actionable insights for continuous product improvement.Regularly engage with the squad to provide feedback on solution development, clarify requirements and remove impediments that optimize productivity.Develop and maintain product documentation, including feature lists, user guides, and release notes, ensuring stakeholders are well-informed.

Technical Proficiency and Collaboration

Possess a solid understanding of the software development processes and technologies used by the development team.Collaborate effectively with engineers and technical leads to understand technical challenges and opportunities.Act as a bridge between the technical team and business stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and alignment on technical requirements and solutions.Facilitate product demos to showcase AI solution capabilities, empowering squad members with real-time feedback and insights.

Business Problem Solving and Methodology Integration

Collaborate with BCG teams and experts to understand business problems and suggest appropriate methodology/software solutions based on business needs and program specifics.Engage in a solution-oriented approach, addressing inquiries and issues timely, while continuously seeking opportunities for service improvement.Collect, synthesize, and analyze learnings and outputs to develop new proprietary assets.Translate methodology into applicable software product(s) where required; configures solutions to tailor it to generate insightful solutions (no technical/coding knowledge required).Collaborate with Engineering and relevant Support teams to help diagnose and resolve software related technical and/or non-technical problems, bugs, performance, and other issues.Support MVP (minimum viable product) based solutioning, support, and customer success.Model behaviors that support the organization's shift towards agile development and AI-driven innovation.Actively support a squad culture rooted in agile principles and a commitment to developing cutting-edge AI solutions and agent frameworks.

What You'll Bring

4-6+ years of relevant work experience with business analysis and/or product management in an agile environment, including working collaboratively to discover and propose relevant solution objectives and requirements.Understanding of software applications including topics such as: Enterprise architecture, Data analytics, APIs.Enthusiasm for, and aptitude in rapidly developing skills in generative AI.Hands-on experience with requirements gathering, drafting user stories and story mapping.Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with experience working with Global teamsOrganizational skills, interpersonal skills, requirements planning, and facilitation skills.Demonstrated aptitude towards problem identification and resolution.Experience in working with distributed teams in an agile context.Experience working on large, complex IT projects (Good to have).Keen interest in understanding customer pain points and solving them with a service mindset to keep product satisfaction high.Entrepreneurial drive and demonstrated ability to achieve stretch goals in an innovative and fast‐paced environment.Excellent problem‐solving, organizational, and analytical skills, with the ability to evolve product strategy based on research, data, and industry trends.Strong proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel.Ability to work independently or virtually, as well as, in a team environment.Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent, required. Major in Business, Technology, or related field encouraged.Experience in Knowledge Management, generative AI, web application development, UX/UI, and/or API design is a plus.
