What You'll Do
The People Digital Product Portfolio is the largest & most dynamic product portfolio within BCG’s Digital Products Organization. We enable the global technology for BCG’s entire People Function including Recruiting; Talent Management (Staffing, Mobility, & Career Development); L&D; and Core HR (including Workday, Compensation, Benefits). Over the past two years, the People Digital Product Portfolio has more than doubled in size, and there is more growth to come.
With this growth comes new opportunities, including the quality engineer role in a new squad focused on delivering our robust compensation and benefits data and analytics needs. This role will be primarily responsible for a new data product, the Rewards Data Product, and is a key component within our evolving data strategy. Initially, this role will be part of a larger HR transformation project to develop our compensation and benefits digital capabilities. Long-term, this role will be part of a growing suite of data products focused on enabling our People functions.
As a Quality Engineer for the Rewards Data Product, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability, accuracy, and efficiency of our People systems. You will be responsible for designing and executing test strategies, automating test processes, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products. Your focus will be on database testing, ETL validation, and overall system performance to support data-driven decision-making.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop, execute, and maintain test cases for database, ETL, and data migration processes.Perform data validation, integrity checks, and reconciliation across multiple data sources.Automate test scripts for database testing and ETL workflows using appropriate tools.Work closely with developers, analysts, and product teams to define test strategies and acceptance criteria.Monitor, debug, and report defects, ensuring timely resolution and continuous quality improvement.Conduct performance and load testing for database transactions and ETL jobs.Ensure testing is integrated into Agile workflows and CI/CD pipelines.Provide documentation on test results, strategies, and automation frameworks.Stay updated on industry trends, tools, and best practices in quality engineering.What You'll Bring
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.Experience:
3+ years of experience in software quality engineering, with a focus on database and ETL testing.Hands-on experience in SQL and database testing (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle).Experience with ETL testing using tools like Informatica, Talend, SSIS, or similar.Strong understanding of automation frameworks (Selenium, TestNG, JUnit, PyTest, etc.).Experience with API testing tools (Postman, REST Assured) and performance testing (JMeter, LoadRunner).Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Git, Docker).Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.Additional info
