Job Description:

The purpose of this position is to proactively drive the consolidation, expansion and quality implementation of World Vision’s humanitarian response and development programming in Lebanon.

Under the direction of the Program Quality and Development Director, the Grants Acquisition and Management Unit Manager will lead the Grants Acquisition and Management Unit to:

Lead WVL in resource acquisition and diversification, Lead the writing of proposals for all donor funded grant opportunities in partnership with technical specialists, field ops, MEAL, and financeEnsure holistic, quality design across all funding streams according to prioritised child well-being objectives, national level pathways of change, appropriate and contextualised project models and evidence-based practices, and indicators for sustainability.Help develop partnerships with national stakeholders and organizations to ultimately enhance WVL’s position and reputation vis-à-vis donors, national and international stakeholders and local communities. Ensure WVL’s funding income aligns with its strategic goals and objectives and provides the means for growth. Provide leadership on overall grants management, including oversight of the grants management cycle, ensuring consistent quality programmatic application across the WVL  Lead on WVL’s positioning efforts with internal and external donors

Resource diversification Strategy Development

Lead the development/maintenance and roll out of a Grant Acquisition and Management (GAM) strategy or plan in line with WVL National Office (NO) StrategyLead the development in consultation with the SLT of a donor engagement plan in alignment with the GAM business plan.Ensure pro-active interaction and coordination with all other WVL departments and field operation teams to maximize synergy effects, support quality design of proposals, as well as facilitate solid and comprehensive grants management and compliance procedures.Develop in collaboration with the National Office team a GAM Business Plan, grant forecasting plans and annual growth plan for Relief and development Portfolios in line with WVL strategy on annual basis, and ensure its implementationLead with the Senior Leadership members (National Director, PDQ Director, Field Operations director) and technical and advocacy teams pre-positioning efforts and strategy for current and potential donors

Resource Acquisition/ Internal and External liaison

Preposition and engage with internal and external donors/stakeholders based on the GAM business planEngage with Support Offices (SOs)/DMT on GAM strategy objectivesProvide support to the WVL team’s and departments when needed in engaging with and developing individual donor relationsLiaise/partner with Middle East and Eastern Europe (MEER) Resource Development Unit (RDU) for grant lessons learned, capacity building and regional alignmentsLead/Support GAM team in the development and submission of new grantsFacilitate Go-No-Go decisions for new grants and opportunitiesLead on the development and/or review of Grant Acquisition business processes. Liaise with different department to ensure adequate implementation.

Grant Management

Supervise Grant Compliance and ensure grants management tools are in place, followed and functional according to standardsGrants reporting (and other requirements) is up to date and timely in line with donor expectations and deadlinesEnsuring that grant management processes are adhered to in coordination with other departments

Partnerships Management

Ensuring that the partnering guidelines are in place and rolled out to all departmentsProvide support to operations team to ensure compliance to the partnering process for all partnershipsLaunch and manage the partnering Expression of Interest on a semi-annual basisLiaise with different departments (Field Ops team and tech team) to complete the preparatory work prior to finalizing the partnership agreements

Team Management

Effectively manage the performance of direct reports ensuring performance agreements, regular performance reviews, and annual appraisal are done.Ensure optimization of subordinates’ potentials through coaching, on-the-job training, and capacity building.

Perform other duties as required

Attend and participate in WVL’s spiritual nurture and other organizational events.Responsible of own security and actively contribute to a positive security culture.Report CP incidents as per the safeguarding policy guidelines.Abide by the security policies and procedures and report any incidents or breaches to line manager and / or security manager.Perform other duties as assigned by Line Manager.

Knowledge/Qualifications for the role:

Post graduate university degree in social sciences, international development or equivalentExcellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PPT and DB Software5 years of experience in Grants Acquisition and Management (senior GAM role and/or similar position)Experience in team managementExcellent understanding of the donor environment in the current contextStrong network and relationship with existing donors in the contextKnowledge of the program management cycle – design, monitoring and evaluationKnowledge of the nexus approach and social behavior change programmingExcellent communication, interpersonal, representation and negotiation skills;Excellent analytical and writing (English) skillsSound planning, time management and administrative skillsAbility to work under pressure, in a team, and for long hours if requiredHigh sense of responsibility and attention to detailProven track record of coaching and capacity building
