Food Safety Manager – Selangor, Malaysia
As Food Safety Manager at Diversey is responsible for leading and coordinating food safety audit operations across multiple sites and industries. This role involves supervising auditors, conducting high-level audits, and ensuring compliance with HACCP, GFSI, ISO, and other food safety standards.
Job Responsibilities:
Lead and coordinate food safety audit activities across multiple sites or clients in accordance with Diversey’s standards.
Supervise and support auditors in planning and executing audits; review audit findings to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance.
Conduct high-level food safety audits, inspections, and assessments across diverse industries, including retail, hospitality, and manufacturing.
Interpret and apply the principles of HACCP, preventive controls, foodborne illness prevention, and food defence in operational settings.
Ensure adherence to relevant global and local regulations, including HACCP, GFSI, and ISO standards.
Evaluate and validate records, documents, test results, policies, and procedures for compliance with food safety standards.
Identify and escalate critical food safety risks or non-conformities; provide clear, actionable corrective and preventive recommendations.
Collaborate with internal teams and external clients to drive continuous improvement in food safety practices and audit readiness.
Deliver or oversee training sessions on Food Safety Levels 1, 2, and 3, as well as related food safety management systems.
Support auditor development through mentoring, knowledge sharing, and calibration exercises.
Utilize digital tools and platforms to complete and manage audit documentation and reporting.
Travel to customer sites as needed and manage audit schedules to meet client and business needs.
Ensure audit activities are carried out primarily during weekdays, with flexibility as required.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in food science, Microbiology, Nutrition, or a related discipline.
Minimum 7-10 years of experience in the food industry, ideally with increasing responsibility in food safety auditing, quality assurance, or food safety management.
Strong working knowledge of:
Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP)
Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI)
ISO Standards (9001, 18000, 22000)
Local Malaysian food safety regulations and requirements
Proficiency in identifying and managing food safety risks and non-conformities across various environments.
Demonstrated ability to lead or supervise audits and support audit teams.
Excellent communication, analytical, and decision-making skills.
Experience with digital audit tools or online reporting platforms.
Additional certifications are an advantage:
ISO auditor certifications
FSSAI (Hygiene Auditor, FOSTAC)
ServSafe, CIEH, FSSC 22000
Willingness to travel around Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Johor) and Singapore as needed based on customer requirements.
