Food Safety Consultant – Selangor, Malaysia (Contract)

Diversey is seeking a motivated Food Safety Consultant to support and conduct food safety audits, assessments, and compliance activities across customer sites in Malaysia and other region. This role is ideal for professionals in the food service or hospitality industry who are passionate about food safety and quality management.

Job Responsibilities:

Assist in planning and conducting food safety audits, inspections, and hygiene assessments at client locations in retail, hospitality, and food manufacturing sectors.

Support the implementation and compliance of food safety standards such as HACCP, GFSI, and ISO requirements.

Document audit findings and prepare accurate, timely reports using standardized digital tools.

Review food safety practices, records, and procedures to identify non-conformities and recommend corrective actions.

Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to support improvements in food safety systems and practices.

Deliver basic food safety training sessions to clients and internal staff, with mentorship from senior food safety professionals.

Stay updated on relevant food safety laws and regulations in Malaysia.

Participate in calibration sessions and knowledge-sharing forums to continuously develop auditing skills.

Maintain audit schedules and travel to client sites as needed, mainly during weekdays.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in food science, Microbiology, Nutrition, or a related field.

Minimum 1 to 5 years of experience in food safety auditing, quality assurance, or a related role in the food industry.

Familiarity with food safety standards including HACCP, ISO 22000, and GFSI schemes.

Basic understanding of food safety risk identification and corrective action processes.

Strong attention to detail, communication, and report-writing skills.

Comfortable using digital tools and platforms for documentation and reporting.

Willingness to travel across Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Johor) and other region as needed based on customer requirements.

Preferred Qualifications (Not Required):

HACCP certification or training.

Exposure to ISO or internal auditing processes.

Food safety training certifications (e.g., FSSC 22000, ServSafe, CIEH).
