Job Description

Role Accountabilities:

Provides input into BU or Segment People plan.

Develops and implements tactical and operational people plans in response to business and people challenges.

Partners with Senior Management teams to advise on people challenges and on how to improve people performance of teams.

Advises on people priorities for the future, using insights from HR Analytics and trends.

Manages the efficient implementation of the HR Calendar.

Develops and implements tactical organisational development and effectiveness interventions to address short-term business needs.

Advises Senior Management teams on improving employee engagement at all levels and on building a high-performance culture aligned to the overall segment plan.

Manages the implementation of the Segment Talent and Leadership plan for a designated area.

Advises Senior Management teams on how to respond to change efficiently and effectively.

Manages the adherence to HR controls and implements new controls as required.

Manages adherence to transformation plans for the segment.

Contributes to HR synergies across OMEM.

May manage a small team of HR Professionals in a large business.

Requirements:

5+ years as an HR Generalist or Business Partnership experience.

A postgraduate degree is advantageous.

Experience within the financial services industry will be advantageous.

An ability to demonstrate high personal impact and influence to build a strong, trusted advisor relationship with business leaders.

Solid employee relations experience is essential.

This role provides input into BU and Segment People Plan with the core focus being on developing and implementing tactical HR people plans to drive organisation effectiveness. This role partners with Senior Management teams and is responsible for the implementation HR plans and advisory services. May manage a small team of HR Professionals in a large team.

ResponsibilitiesPolicy Development and Implementation

Develop procedures and interpret and apply policy for area of expertise to achieve specified outputs, or advise the wider business on application of policy, then monitor implementation of those procedures within the organization.

HR Frameworks and Tools

Identify requirements for HR frameworks and tools for recruitment, performance management, development, career and succession planning, compensation and benefits, diversity, employee onboarding and offboarding, and retention of talent, within an important area of responsibility, to meet business or institution needs. Enable the attraction, development, and retention of talent at a sustainable cost. Specify the design and manage development and implementation, ensuring compliance with external requirements and integration with the broader HR policy framework.

Information and Business Advice

Provide specialist advice on the interpretation and application of policies and procedures, resolving complex or contentious queries and issues and enabling others to take appropriate actions.

HR Data Analytics and Insights

Investigate complex hypotheses, using a wide range of HR data to diagnose underlying causes of key business issues and identify opportunities to enhance employee engagement and/or improve business performance.

Employee Relations Case Management

Investigate, and propose solutions for, very complex and/or contentious employee relations cases in liaison with line managers; coordinate the organization's response to legal cases brought by individuals; contribute to the preparation of legal submissions, and ensure all parties complete casework accurately and within deadlines.

HR Data Management

Specify, develop, and test HR data collection procedures and tools within an area of HR practice to meet defined key principles and ensure compliance with external requirements.

Personal Capability Building

Act as subject matter expert in an area of technology, policy, regulation, or operational management for the team. Maintain external accreditations and in-depth understanding of current and emerging external regulation and industry best practices through continuing professional development, attending conferences, and reading specialist media.

Internal Client Relationship Management

Manage relationships with internal clients and act as a business partner to them, building high levels of professional credibility and mutual trust, and managing the deployment of appropriate internal and/or external resources to support in delivering business strategy and plans.
