Financial Controlling Senior Analyst

About the role:
Africa Financial Controlling Team is part of CG Tower provides oversight on financial activities and controls including general accounting, management and external reporting and financial planning and analysis. The tower is responsible for the interpretation of financial and statutory data, the coordination and management of financial and statutory reporting, the management of the P&L , Balance sheet and Cash/Working capital delivering solutions that will increase insight and transparency. Tower responsibilities also include ensuring there is a true and fair representation of business performance at the cut-off point for the period and transparency on financials for Business Performance Management.
Role Responsibilities:
Perform month end close responsibilities including journal entry preparation, supports the reconciliation process (e.g. accounting guidance and ensuring proper backup information and data in alignment with PCAOB requirements)
Ensure financial statement is reported accurately and timely for monthly reporting, understand and explain variances compared to previous periods
With a risk focus mindset identifies incorrect postings, process gaps, any other financial risk for the company
Ensure that financial & statutory processes are undertaken accurately, efficiently, on time and that the surrounding control procedures are strictly adhered to in line with the internal (CARM) and external requirements
Understand, interpret, and implement Group Accounting and Reporting requirements; communicate requirements to the rest of the Financial Control team and to relevant teams
Support Cash and working Capital forecast
Qualifications and Experience Required:
Degree educated in relevant finance / accounting/ business
Qualified accountant
4-5 years’ experience in relevant area
Experience working within an international / multicultural environment
Exemplary Risk Management (Internal Controls, Managing Risk, Embedding Compliance & Ethics)
Strong Financial Controlling knowledge (Balance sheet, Group and Local Financial Reporting, Accounting principles)
Strong analytical skills to be able to see and understand the big picture and deliver high level message, offering solutions for issues
Fluent English knowledge
