Job Description

An experienced Financial Accountant with experience in business analysis and systems investigation, to join the CGIC systems team to guide them on financial practices and compliance requirements.

Undertake a full review of the existing systems functional capability with the intent of replacing this technology with new Saas systems and custom development as necessary.

Fulfil a bridging role between the systems and Finance team toward meeting Finance teams requirements.

Existing systems investigation and documentation, including Finance, Billing, Reinsurance, Bonds, GL, Receipts and Payments.

Assist with the determination of the new replacement financial solution.

Support the establishment of the new solution ensuring the solution is fit for purpose.

Support the operationalisation of the replacement solution.

Undertake the liaison between Finance and IS for all future system needs.

Responsibilities:

The investigation and documentation of the current financial application systems to determine the existing functionality used by CGIC.

This includes the origin of premiums, fees and other costs which are processed through accounts receivable and accounts payable including any ledgers (GL and claims) through to IFRS17 and MI reporting.

Determine functional requirements for new system:

Establish the delta between what existed historically and what is needed from a replacement solution.

Assist with the selection of a replacement solution:

Support the selection process of a replacement system suitable for CGIC.

Support the preparation and implementation of new system:

Represent the product owner role toward the establishment of the new system.

Facilitate the revision of the business value chain toward the new solution.

Assist to establish revised business processes and procedures to use the new solution.

Information Systems and Finance team liaison:

As a member of the IS team continue in the financial business analyst role to support the ongoing needs and requirements of the CGIC Finance Team and the delivery of fit for purpose solutions by the systems team.

General Role:

Act as a bridge between the finance team and IT systems team.

Investigation and analysis of business needs and requirements.

Understanding of business functions and processes.

Impact analysis of changes to existing or introduction of new systems.

Document the functional requirements following CGIC methodology.

Follow Agile principles in systems delivery.

Qualifications:

Bachelor degree in Accounting / Finance supported by a Information Technology knowledge.

Minimum of 5 years accounting / financial practice with additional skill in information technology being advantageous.

Strong proficiency in accounting, General Ledger and reporting practices including IFRS17.

Appropriate certification in information technology.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
